And just like that, A Seat at the Table has come to a close.

Four days of extraordinary craftsmanship, meaningful conversations, new connections and a wonderful reminder of what this industry can achieve when we come together.

To every maker, collaborator and visitor who took their seat at the table, thank you for being part of it.

The installation may have come to an end, but the conversations and connections it inspired are only beginning.

There will always be a seat at the table.

Today is your final opportunity to experience A Seat at the Table at Decorex 2026.

An extraordinary showcase of craftsmanship, creativity and the talented makers behind each piece, brought together through a shared appreciation for exceptional design.

As the exhibition draws to a close, we invite you to take a closer look at the remarkable work on display, discover the makers behind the craft and browse the pieces available for purchase.

For AEVEN co-founders Grant Pierrus and Alex Dauley, it’s a bittersweet moment, but the conversations and connections sparked around the table are only the beginning.

There’s a seat at the table for everyone.

A Seat at the Table has come to life, bringing together an extraordinary community of makers, designers and collaborators through a shared celebration of craftsmanship, creativity and connection.

On Monday morning, we had the pleasure of hosting the AEVEN Makers' Breakfast, bringing together the people behind the pieces for a morning of conversations, introductions and new connections.

After months of planning and collaboration, there was something particularly special about hearing the stories behind the work and seeing relationships form around the very pieces that brought us together.

At its heart, A Seat at the Table is about creating space for these exchanges. A place where independent makers can share their stories, have their voices heard and take their rightful seat within the wider design community.

The chairs and pieces brought us together. The conversations are what will carry us forward.

Every chair tells a story and so does every journey it takes to reach the vision. We were honoured to work alongside @aevencollective to help bring A Seat at the Table to life at @decorex_international , orchestrating each individually chosen piece so @alexandriadauley and @grantpierrus vision of one shared table could unfold seamlessly.

For nearly 30 years, Sedilia has been making bespoke furniture for interior designers, giving the team a first-hand view of how the relationship between designer and maker, and the demands placed on both, are evolving.

Today, Sedilia is seeing growing demand for individual pieces that elevate a project. Their own workshop reflects that shift: 3D designers work alongside makers, scale models are printed and prototypes developed to resolve details down to a single millimetre. Design and making are becoming increasingly intertwined.

But Sedilia’s perspective on bespoke goes beyond process. At the heart of their work are long-standing client relationships built on trust, collaboration and a shared ambition to create exceptional work; relationships that give designers the confidence to push ideas further and be more adventurous.

It made Sedilia a natural partner for our first Red Table Talk: The Future Is Custom, bringing together their experience from inside the workshop with AEVEN’s wider community of designers, makers and industry voices to examine what this changing landscape means for the future of bespoke.

Thank you to Alice Lockerbie, Robert Stephenson and the wider team for opening up their workshop (and the conversation) to us. taken in London, United Kingdom by @grantpierrus

Bespoke is growing. But is the way we value the work behind it keeping pace?

At The Future is Custom, the Red Table looked beyond the finished piece to the realities of bespoke: where design time sits, how it is charged for, who owns the outcome and how contribution is recognised.

For Sedilia, nearly 30 years of bespoke furniture making has shown that the strongest work is built on trust, collaboration and shared ambition between designer and maker. Those relationships give clients the confidence to be bolder and more adventurous, opening up creative possibilities that bespoke makes possible.

How do we protect and value that creative relationship as demand for bespoke grows?

Hosted by AEVEN Collective's Grant Pierrus and Alex Dauley alongside Sedilia's Alice Lockerbie and Robert Stephenson at Sedilia's London studio.

More voices. More conversations. More from the Red Table to come.

What happens when more of the design process moves from the studio into the workshop?

For The Future is Custom, the Red Table explored the changing relationship between design and manufacture and what happens to value, authorship and recognition as the boundaries between the two become less distinct.

For Sedilia, these aren't hypothetical questions. In response to growing demand for custom and bespoke furniture, their workshop has evolved to include 3D designers, printed scale models and prototypes developed to resolve details down to a single millimetre.

If increasingly valuable design development is happening within the workshop, where should that work sit in the fee? Where does authorship sit? And is the industry recognising that shift?

A candid conversation between people working across the industry, examining how the business of bespoke needs to evolve alongside the way it is designed and made.

Welcome to the AEVEN Red Table Talks.

One brand. One topic. Fifteen voices. Progressive, commercial and creative perspectives, turning rarely asked questions and shared insights into industry knowledge for the collective good.

Our first conversation, The Future is Custom, was hosted by AEVEN founders Grant Pierrus and Alex Dauley alongside Sedilia’s Alice Lockerbie and Robert Stephenson.

Suppliers, designers and industry voices came together to explore how bespoke furniture is evolving, and what that means for authorship, credit and value.

Williams & Yates are officially on the road, and they’ve got quite the journey ahead of them.

Over the coming days, the team will be travelling the length and breadth of the UK, collecting work from our AEVEN makers and bringing it all together for A Seat at the Table at Decorex 2026.

It’s a huge undertaking, and one that means makers based across the country can be part of what we’re creating.

A lot of miles. A lot of chairs, objects and artworks. A very full van (or two).

We couldn’t bring an exhibition of this scale together without people who genuinely believe in what we’re trying to do, and Williams and Yates have gone above and beyond to make it happen.

Safe travels, team. We’ll see you, and the pieces, in London. taken in London, United Kingdom by @grantpierrus
