Claytime Workshops

Claytime workshops are intimate, guided workshops that bring people together through making, learning, and connection.

Each workshop begins with a drink and shared tasty treats from MOA & co, giving you time to settle in, connect with others, and arrive fully before working with clay. From there, we explore simple hand-building techniques, step by step, in a calm and supportive environment.

With a maximum of six participants, these workshops are intentionally small, allowing for personalised guidance and an unhurried pace. You’ll create functional ceramic pieces that are glazed and fired after the workshop, ready for collection at a later date.

Our Claytime workshops focus on creating an experience that leads to pieces people truly want to keep. By slowing the process and supporting thoughtful making, each piece has intention behind it. The result is less waste, more care, and work that feels special from the moment it’s made to the moment it’s collected.

Claytime workshops can be booked as public sessions or held privately, making them a thoughtful option for celebrations, milestones, or simply coming together with a small group of people to create something meaningful.

View upcoming workshops or enquire about private bookings via the link in bio.

Grounded Gatherings ✨

Grounded Gatherings are open, community-focused sessions designed to make creativity easy to share. Each gathering invites you to paint a pre-made ceramic piece in a relaxed setting within MOA & co, offering a simple way to slow down, create, and spend meaningful time together.

These sessions are especially suited to coming along with others. Whether you’re inviting friends, family, or colleagues, Grounded Gatherings create space for conversation, laughter, and connection while making something side by side. It’s an experience that encourages presence and shared moments, rather than rushing toward an outcome.

The structure of each gathering supports this sense of togetherness. With materials prepared and gentle guidance available, everyone can settle in quickly and enjoy the afternoon. Enjoy charcuterie boards from MOA & co, making it easy to turn the session into a longer catch-up or casual celebration without needing to plan anything extra.

Each gathering is created in collaboration with local businesses, bringing thoughtful details into the experience through locally sourced refreshments and complementary creative elements. These partnerships help shape gatherings that feel considered, generous, and grounded in place.

If you’re looking for something more tailored, private group gatherings are also available. These can be shaped around different creative formats and group sizes, offering a flexible option for birthdays, team catch-ups, or shared experiences.

Explore upcoming Grounded Gatherings at groundedbydesigns.com

Book online to secure a place or enquire about hosting a private group experience.

Quietly over the moon about this one ✨

Grounded By Designs has been named a finalist in the Tourist Attractions category of the 2026 NSW Tourism Awards.

Thank you to every single person who has come to play with clay, paint something beautiful, or simply needed a moment to slow down.

None of this happens without our roomies, MOA & co, the legendary Fogarty family, our amazing team, our incredible guests, our partners, and the small business community of Newcastle who have incredible services and offerings. Grateful does not quite cover it.

To the small businesses near and far doing the quiet work every day.

The ones who show up before anyone else and are usually the last to leave. Who put more into something than they will ever get credit for. Who keep going through the slow weeks and the hard seasons because they genuinely believe in what they are building.

Just know that what you are doing matters ✨

If there is a small business in your world worth supporting, find them. Tell a friend. Leave a review. Show up. It all adds up. by @groundedbydesigns

One piece, countless creations ✨

That’s the beauty of a Paint Your Piece Studio Session. Start with a blank piece, like this bowl, and make it entirely your own. No instruction, no pressure, just your pace and your paintbrush.

Studio Sessions are self-directed and available on an ongoing basis, perfect if you want to create without being guided through it.

Book a Studio Session during our studio’s open hours and we’ll set you up then let you be. Enjoy coffee and a tasty treat from MOA and make a morning of it. .

The year is flying by, and our Claytime workshops are officially on the calendar ✨

Grab your pals, carve out a few hours, and make a day of it. Get your hands in the clay, switch off the noise, then head out for lunch afterwards at @earpdistillery, @carringtonbowlo, @newcastleyachtclub @themartvilletavern. Giving yourself permission to slow down and make something with your own two hands is grounding in the best way.

Saturdays (most)
10am to 12:30pm
$120 per person
Grounded By Designs studio (within MOA & co)

Your creations will be fired and ready for collection in 4-6 weeks, so you'll have something handmade and another coffee date to look forward to @moaandco_.

And if your piece doesn't turn out quite how you pictured? No stress. You can pass on firing and take a $30 credit to spend in store instead.

Our first Carrington Artisan Market.

With so much happening around Newcastle this long weekend, thank you to everyone who made time to stop by, say hello and spend a little while at our table with the Paint Your Piece range.

Thank you also to @carringtonartisanmarket and @moaandco_ for having us.

A special thank you to AL, for keeping us company at the stall and enjoying the process of painting a piece. See you on the 17 October.

Close your eyes for a second and just listen.

This is Bron from BronTee Meditation, playing during Present Hands.

While your hands are in the clay, the sound moves around the room. You're shaping, feeling the texture, listening, breathing. It becomes an experience for all the senses.

This isn't a session for chatting. It's time for you. Bring something you've been wanting to sit with, and let yourself work through it with your hands.

If you'd like, bring a friend along. You'll each have your own quiet space during the session, and a chance to talk it through together afterwards.

Are you ready to shift something in your life?

Sunday 18 October
2:30 to 4pm
MOA & co

Book your spot today.
