*THIRD TIME UPLOADING BECAUSE META KEPT MUTING THE SOUND.*

For the past year, I’ve been struggling a lot with PTSD from being in Palestine during the Genocide, standing in the General Elections and my legal battles against the Labour Party, extreme bullying from men in the Workers Party, I’ve found it difficult to revisit past memories. Watching this back a year on, I still am so overwhelmed by the love I received on this day and beyond from the constituents of Stratford and Bow, and the Bangladeshi community. I have been mostly alone in all my battles but I am blessed with the ability to continue even if it feels like I should “give up.” I promise I won’t, I just needed rest.

Two weeks, 10 volunteers, limited finances, media blacklisting, vote splitters, legal threats and spies 👀 the battle of David and Goliath was fought in Stratford and Bow

The greatest honour of my life was going from Palestine to standing in the 2024 General Elections to lend my voice to the voiceless.

I was so fortunate to be invited to the @londonbengalifilmfestival opening night film premiere of @_raihanrafi_ phenomenal movie “Pressure Cooker.” The story highlights four women in Dhaka’s underbelly reaching their breaking point, transitioning from victims of exploitation to taking control of their lives. The film had me thinking of how sharp the contrast is to Bollywood films of today. It’s so refreshing to watch a movie that empowers and stays with you, which is seldom found in the heavily propagandised movies of today that are made for consumption and not digestion. I was so incredibly impressed by the artistic direction of the movie and the acting of the lead females, so if you have never seen a Bangla movie, I’d definitely recommend Pressure Cooker ❤️

The Arts in the Bengal is part of our history and played a huge part in our liberation and still forms the basis of revolution, I urge everyone to take the opportunity to watch some of the finest movies in Bengali cinema while the the festival is still on-going. The last date of the festival is the 26th April so be quick 🥹❤️

2025 - The year I was defeated by the opinions and actions of others, defeated by isolation and defeated by my own mind.

Everything I’ve seen, felt and experienced in the last 5 years started to crumble in the beginning of the year and collapsed on me on the last half of the year, even if I seemed present, I’ve never felt more lost.

I know I’m not truly alone and many people fought silent battles this year. I pray we all find ease.

For all the people I struggled to reach out to, I pray you forgive me, and if I felt cold, unresponsive or distant it was never personal. All those who gave me support, love and warmth, I pray I can repay you. Please know it means the world to me, even when I’m struggling to express it.

I am eternally grateful for all the new people I have met this year, and to all the cut ties, I wish you nothing but prosperity and peace.

I pray I am able to hold onto the memories of light, that can outshine the memories of darkness. ✨🤲🏽 When my chest swells with burden and pain, I pray I am forgiven for ever being ungrateful. by @halimanyomi
