2025 - a milestone year for me in so many ways.

Whether acting, directing, adventuring or coaching, everything has taken a step forwards, some small, some huge.

I’ve been lucky enough to spend time with old friends, make fantastic new ones and enjoy time with my family.

I got a couple of acting gigs which lead to some wonderful new connections, and I have a cool little role to look forward to in the New Year.

Skiing, mountaineering, surfing and even horse riding got some time to develop and grow, plus I finally saw The Boss in concert.

And of course there’s Unlicensed. This is the year that I delivered on a promise I made to myself many years ago - that I would be a movie director. It cannot be overstated how big a moment it was to have my film released into the world. My heartfelt thanks to everyone who joined me on the journey, whatever stage you made your appearance.

Not everything has gone to plan, but everything has helped me grow.

So thank you 2025. You were amazing.

And I can’t wait for 2026, because I’m just getting started.

Fun times talking to Mark Hampton @hammyactor about his debut feature film @unlicensed_movie , which was released in the UK and Ireland in 2025 and had its North American premiere @owtff last week (where he won 🏆 best actor!!)

Mark wrote, directed and starred in the film about a disgraced former city boy who enters an unlicensed boxing match after serving time in prison for insider trading.
You can watch it online!

Mark is a multi-award-winning actor, writer and director who loves playing action-oriented roles and has recently appeared in major motion pictures such as Heads of State (Amazon Studios), Lift (Netflix) and One More Shot (Sky), as well as numerous independent films and television appearances. In 2026 Mark will be appearing in The Runner from Academy Award winner Kevin MacDonald, and the action-thriller Archangel.

He has also directed the season 3 finale of multi-award-winning fantasy web series @renthegirlwiththemark , which premiered earlier this year.

Mark is a member of @equityuk and @director_uk and is represented by Nina Malone at @iagtalent

Day 3 of @owtff was a fun, relaxed content creation day after being relieved of my hosting and moderating duties! One of my interviewees @orlando.director and I came out to support the screening of @hammyactor first feature, the award-winning @unlicensed_movie that he wrote, produced, and starred in - coming to theatres near you on Nov. 17! Only written in a month, it’s a real knockout 🥊

Winning Best Actor!!!🏆

So thrilled to be there in person to receive the award for Best Actor at the Open World Toronto Film Festival for @unlicensed_movie 🥊

Five years ago I won this award for Acceptance but couldn’t travel because of covid, so it was doubly special to be there in Toronto this time.

Huge thanks to @sabinemondestin and the whole @owtff team for making me feel so welcome and celebrating independent film! 🎬

Unlicensed is out in Canada and the US on 17th November.
