Half way 🤰 I feel so grateful to be 20 weeks through my pregnancy. Feeling movement has been a surreal experience 🤍

I have unique anatomy in which my reproductive system didn’t form on my left side. It’s called a unicornate uterus, which is quite rare and for me means I have one ovary, a smaller uterus and a pelvic kidney. I found out about this a few years ago which led to uncertainty around fertility and pregnancy. This was a big reason why we froze embryos while I was still competing. After falling pregnant naturally the week we were planning to start IVF, we were over the moon. However, it hasn’t been smooth, I had quite a lot of bleeding throughout my first trimester which was quite scary. For now, all is tracking along well and it makes me really excited for what’s to come 🦄

My story. I started out as a young kid from Victoria just hoping to make the @nutrigrainau @ironseries. This little video shows what it takes to reach the pinnacle of the sport. I love this sport and all it entails; the early mornings, the hard work, the lessons learnt and the friendships made 💫 by @harrietbrown

It wasn’t easy. But damn it was worth it.

I knew what the rebab journey would take and I dreaded going through that process again. I had many moments of frustration and self doubt, but little by little I started to progress.

I’m pretty proud of how far I’ve come and am grateful to be back doing what I love. I couldn’t have imagined it would end in an @ironseries title. Thank you to those who supported & believed in me 💛 by @harrietbrown

In 2019, Harriet was training at Momentum Sports Performance Centre as a professional Ironwoman, pictured holding Georgia Leys, now a Mini MAD athlete.

Fast forward to 2026, Harriet is now a mother herself, holding her own baby, Olive, while participating in Team Training.

From athlete to mother, Momentum continues to serve a different purpose through every chapter of life.

Different chapters. The same community 💙 by @harrietbrown

Overseas adventures through the streets of Hong Kong with Olive in her @bugabooaus butterfly 2 travel pram. Being a first time mum, I had no idea what to pack for travel. This pram has been a dream… light weight, easy to manoeuvre and great to travel with @baby.bunting by @harrietbrown

As an athlete, it took me a while to realise excellence isn’t just about being the perfect athlete. I often grappled with decision making when it came to sport and life outside of sport. This is an insight into how I navigated finding a balance that worked for me.

Another year older. My first year as a mum and my most transformative year yet. Right now I feel so grateful for our family unit and having Olive in this world with us. I thought I was prepared for motherhood. But can anything really prepare you? A wild, messy, beautiful year of pregnancy, birth and raising a baby. I look at how far we have come as we enjoy ourselves in Thailand with such a happy baby.

The beginning was rocky. It’s hard to talk about when you’re in it, especially when I felt conflictingly so grateful and lucky to be able to have a baby (especially with a unicornuate uterus). No one warned us we would find it this hard. But added layers of a colicy baby screaming many hours of the day, her not latching, not wanting formula, pumping 8 times per day, many night wake ups, two infections (me), struggling to exercise, Olive’s poor growth rate and Ben having to cut back hours at work. I have never questioned myself so much.

She is now happy, healthy and thriving and we are all on the up! I’ve slowly realised there is no perfect way to mother, no perfect trajectory or nap schedule. It’s rolling with the highs and lows, survival mode, being patient and surrendering to unpredictably. I have learnt so much this year while navigating my new identity. Ben and I have leant on each other so much and our families and for that I am forever grateful. This new slower life is giving me so much joy. It’s constant and relentless but everyday Olive makes me smile and makes me proud to be a mum 💛 by @harrietbrown
