welcome to lofi, half-caf coffee to study/relax to.

inspired by our fav lofi hip hop youtube channel, this blend has half the caffeine, but all the good flavours you'd expect.

currently a blend of our Colombian EA decaf, and a Peruvian from Samuel Jimenez, it's giving us chill beats of plum, cherry, marzipan, and cocoa.

available now on the webshop & @cafe.goodluck, and at our cafe partners next week!

4️⃣PASTOR ORDOÑEZ, WASHED PINK BOURBON4️⃣

The legend is back, Don Pastor is here gracing our menu for a fourth year in a row! Every year that we've been roasting, we've been roasting Pastor's coffee.

It's hard to pick favourites, but if I had a desert island coffee, this would be it. Every year it's so silky smooth, easy to crush, with plenty to consider.

Getting to meet Don Pastor in 2024 was truly one of the biggest highlights of my trip to Colombia. He's an inspiring force to be around, both for us and the many young producers that make up Monkaaba.

Pastor has done much over the years to perfect his growing and processing, and the year over year improvement shows that.

This harvest is tasting phenomenal, we roast it light to highlight the bright fruity notes up front, and a long sweet finish. In the cup we were getting sweet papaya, bright flowery lychee, sweet tea, and caramels.

Cherries are picked at peak ripeness and left in sealed bags for 8 hours before resting in the depulper hopper for a 12-hour fermentation. After depulping, the parchment is left to dry-ferment for 36 hours. The coffee is then washed and moved directly to raised drying beds above Pastor's house, where it dries for 18 to 30 days.

As with all of our coffees, this is a limited lot! Pick it up now at a fun stocking cafe near you, or on our webshop!

CALLING all ghoulies, gremlins, and goblins! Indeed it is that time of year again, where the veil thins and we are able to call to the other side. And also candy :) That realm of spirits and things that go bump in the night. Whether you are carting around a bunch of candy starved children or conducting a seance Have Fun.... Or Else will fill you with much needed vitality. This coffee is a scary good blend of three BOO-tiful and hex-pressive coffee; A natural from Ethiopia, a washed coffee from Guatemala, and a funked up anaerobic from Colombia! It's got that natural funk, it's got fruity candy sweetness, it's got more chocolate than you can steal from your kids, it has a body in the trunk and an ouija board on the dash.

!! DO NOT ATTEMPT TO MAKE THIS AS A POUR-OVER USING YOUR OWN SKULL!!

the copy paste is just too good to not use again! we're trying something new with our sp0o0okiest blend of the year, and we're afraid it's PRETTY tasty! details below! pick up a bag at your favour local fun stocking cafe, or on the webshop!

🍒DANILO SANCHEZ NATURAL PARAINEMA🍒

yoooo we've got one of the tastiest natural coffees we've had all year on the menu right now!! This Natural Parainema grown by Danilo Sánchez out if El Paraíso, Honduras!

Though we never visited Danilo's farm while we were in Honduras, we got to spend a lot of time with him! He is a passionate third-generation coffee grower, who works alongside his family. In fact we always buy his wife Yensi Sánchez's coffee every year, and together they make our seasonal Love Bug blend.

Danilo's passion for producing quality coffee is very clearly seen here. Starting with a Parainema varietal, this coffee first undergoes 50-hours of whole cherry anaerobic fermentation in sealed bags. This initial round of fermentation really kicks starts the process, i believe amplifying the coffees punchy fruity quality.

Afterwards it is spread onto covered raised beds, where it is constantly turned and dried naturally in whole cherry for 20-25 days.

in the cup we get sweet cherry and poppy pomegranate, a lovely rose florality and big big dark chocolate on the finish. Good many ways, but is absolutely insane as an espresso, if you enjoy unique, fruity and exciting espressos!

only a little bit left of this coffee, grab it while you can!

🔥ESNAIDER & FAM, WASHED SIDRA🔥

We couldn't be more excited to offer this amazing Sidra from the talented Ortega-Gomez family for a second year. They've grown coffee in San Agustin for over 60 years and Esnaider represents the fourth generation.

A young and passionate producer, Esnaider is one of the leaders of Monkaaba, our export partner that we buy the majority of our Colombian coffee through. We had the privilege to meet and spend time with him and his family during our trip to Colombia in 2024. Esnaider took excellent care of us, driving us from farm to farm, making sure we were well fed and full of Guarapo (sugarcane juice).

It's hard to really put into words how inspiring it is to watch Esnaider work. The passion he has for growing and producing coffee is one thing, but his passion for his work through Monkaaba is truly inspirational. He spends more time in the Monkaaba lab and at other producers farms than he does his own; all with the goal to lift up and educate everyone around him.

This coffee is particularly cool, and was one of the first I've ever knowingly had that was fermented in oak barrels! A traditional method of fermentation that is not commonly used anymore, overtaken by the ease of tiled fermentation tubs.

Sidra is a highly sought-after variety of coffee, bringing in high-premiums and high cup scores. This cup is sweet and unique, with sweet black cherry, soft florals, lime soda, and a rich ginger snap finish.

Brewing Recommendations:

Pour-over: 1:15-17 ratio, we love the 16g-250ml in the Kalita wave.

Espresso: 18.2g-18.8g in / 37g-39g out / 27-30 seconds. by @havefun.coffee

🍊🧡WILDER SANTACRUZ, NATURAL GESHA🧡🍊

another beautiful coffee from the talented Wilder, this time were excited to be featuring his Naturally processed Gesha!

Gesha as a variety needs no introduction, if you're following and looking and coffee content, high chance you're a gesha stan. so are we.

For this Natural Gesha lot, the cherries are left to begin a controlled anaerobic fermentation in sealed, shaded barrels for two days. From there, the cherries are moved to a mechanical dryer, which runs on rice husks.

In the dryer, the temperature is carefully controlled so that it doesn’t go past 35C, and the coffee spends 48 hours in the mechanical silo dryer. From there, it moves to a patio to finish drying.

This Gesha is super expressive, confectionary, and complex. Lots of fun fruit notes, deep rich pu-erh tea, Elderflower Liqueur, and fresh berry on the finish.

Pour-over: 1:16-17 ratio, 15g in, 250ml water, I like going 45g bloom, up to 150g, 200g, 250g, try to have it end in 2:30-3:00 depending on your taste preferences!

Espresso: 18g-18.5g in / 37g-39g out / 27-30 seconds.

🍏LEODAN BAUTISTA, NATURAL BOURBON🍏

We have a beautiful natural from Leodan Bautista out of Honduras! If you're a fan of have fun, you know we're big fans of Leodan. This year we had his coffee in our Big Sipper, and his very own espresso HILUX.

We get to explore his more experimental side with this juicy Naturally Processed Bourbon!

Big warm sweet Vanilla anf Mulled Cider, poppy creamy Lime Sorbet & a long Milk Chocolate finish, absolute banger.

lovely as a punchy espresso or a more fun and funky pourover, a real treat for the natural lovers out there!

We love getting to feature Leodan's small lots, as well as his bigger ones! this is a small 2 bag lot, so don't sleep on it!(caffeine pun)

It's on its way to cafe partners now so ask if they'll have it in this week! available on the webshop if you're not near a local have fun loving cafe 🙂‍↔️.

Meet some of the roasters! 🔥

@coffeerightyow wouldn't be an epic coffee fest if not for its epic line up of roasters.

First up, one of our Bronze Cup Sponsors and our dear friends over at @cafepista, roasting out of beautiful Montreal.

Max started Café Pista in 2014 as a human powered mobile bike Cafe and has grown it into a globally recognized roastery; and café spaces that are among some of the brightest and most welcoming in Montreal.

Café Pista has become much more than just a coffee shop; it is a human-scale entrepreneurial project, born from dreams and visions, and supported by a team dedicated to offering the best coffee to their community.

And their coffees are as delicious as they are ethical, and they also often work with our friends and Park Stage Sponsors @semillacoffee and the amazing line up of coffee producers they help support.

The team at Café Pista is also part of the @cafecollectif coffee festival in Montreal and they have been great supporters of Coffee Right YOW and we couldn't love them anymore than we already do.

We'll share more about this awesome business in the lead up to the festival and can't wait for y'all to try all their offerings on Sept 12 at @parkdalepublicmarket!
