From Dar es Salaam to the Albufeira 🇵🇹, carrying aspirations of 80,000+ Tanzanian young women ✈️

This week, @herinitiative is at the 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 𝐎𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐀𝐥𝐛𝐮𝐟𝐞𝐢𝐫𝐚, 𝐏𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐠𝐚𝐥, a global gathering of leaders working to end poverty and injustice. We are not going to listen only. We are going to share how structural barriers and systemic inequalities hinders young women from realising their dreams.

Our Learn → Earn → Lead blueprint is the model we are carrying into every conversation. Learn builds her skills and knowledge of her rights. Earn turns them into income. Lead puts her in charge of the decisions that shape her future.

When the people who fund, build, and connect the sector sit in one room, the aspirations of the young women we serve should be in the conversation too.

Tell us: what should we ask, share, or bring back from the room? Drop it in the comments 👇

𝐅𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐞𝐥𝐝. 𝐎𝐧𝐞 𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐦, 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫.

The Career Development Event brought 𝟑𝟕 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 from Going Beyond together in Dar es Salaam to celebrate the journey so far and prepare for what comes next.

As they near the end of their phase in the youth leadership programme, we wanted them to leave with real tools and real pathways:

@ms_rosee_ showed how to find digital jobs online and build a portfolio that opens doors in digital spaces.

Dina Kikuli of Anza Entrepreneurs shared how to build a successful enterprise from scratch.

Mrisho Kagoa of @niajiriplatform shared what makes a strong CV and cover letter, with the do’s and don’ts of applying for jobs.

@humphreyevarist from Her Initiative introduced them to @pandadigitaltz a platform they can use to keep learning and grow their businesses.

A good exit is a strong beginning. Our Youth Leaders are ready for the next chapter of their careers.

Thank you to our speakers for investing in them.

Ndoa haipaswi kuwa chanzo cha ukatili, vitisho wala kupoteza maisha. Kila mwanamke ana haki ya kuishi kwa usalama, heshima na upendo bila kufanyiwa ukatili na mwenza wake.

Pinga ukatili kwenye ndoa. Komesha mauaji ya wanawake Tanzania.
