It was 6:28 am on October 7th and everything seemed right in Kibbutz Be’eri.

The parakeets were chirping as they whirled through the sky.
The trees were swaying gently in the soft wind.
The purple flowers and plump lemons were waiting to be picked.

Then it was 6:29 am on Saturday October 7th and suddenly everything was a nightmare.

Over 500 Hamas terrorists did the unspeakable.
They broke through the Gaza border and entered this tiny community of 1400.
93 innocent people were murdered for no reason.
29 innocent people were taken hostage and dragged into Gaza.

These are not numbers. These are individual worlds.

Can you imagine your next door neighbors being shot at, grenades thrown at your home, or your parent’s house blown to shreds?

This is the reality in Kibbutz Be’eri. I saw it myself.

It’s 2:44 pm on December 19th and I’ll never be the same.

brb, have a 1:1 with the King 👑

I remember when I realized I could ask Hashem for anything

it was 2020, peak Covid, and I was in Zoom seminary (yes that really happened lol)

I was living right here - this is my backyard 🌾

it was incredibly lonely to be the only person keeping kosher or shabbat for at least a 30 min drive in what felt like the middle of nowhere Pennsylvania

silver lining? I could finally learn Torah. Zoom meant that I could be part of something I never could have done otherwise, thanks to @olami.souled

a rebbetzin in Israel explained that there are no limits when it comes to prayer. that there is infinite capacity for the Creator, so anything can be requested

this was such a complete mind shift for me: if Hashem, the King of Kings, can do anything - then why don’t I start asking for it?!

I have to remind myself constantly of this idea. I shouldn’t just ask Hashem for two or three things every time I pray. I don’t have to phrase it perfectly or run it through ChatGPT. I should be asking for all my dreams to come true, straight from the heart

when we say, “the King is in the field,” it means that Hashem is more accessible to us at this very moment in Elul than the rest of the year. He’s done the hard work and come to US! pretty insane to imagine a king or president coming to our door requesting a meeting… all the more so for Hashem waiting for us to return to Him

maybe I took that a little too seriously this year 🤣

now is the time- have a 1:1. make the effort. He’s right there, just waiting for you to call. and when you do, be sure to ask for everything you want - and believe it’s already on the way 🙏

I actually didn’t grow up Orthodox

It’s a journey I’ve been on for the last 9 years, thank G-d

We’re all on our own paths- some quicker, some straighter than others. Returning to our roots isn’t one big moment; it’s thousands of small decisions, one step at a time 💪

Since we’re in Elul, it’s such an important reminder to myself heading into the high holidays this year. Even if I don’t pray entirely in Hebrew, or if I’m the last in the room to finish because I’m sounding out every single letter, or if I don’t understand every word that I say- that’s ok. Me trying my best is what counts!!

And Hashem is proud of every step we take back to Him 👑💙

I’ve always borrowed my machzor from the beautiful communities who host me for chagim. And now, I have my own 🥹 I chose the @korenpublishers Rabbi Sacks Ashkenaz set with Hebrew and English and love it

Today is 13 Elul, my Hebrew birthday!! 🥰

In Judaism we have a special tradition of giving blessings on our Hebrew birthday- so I’d like to bless you 🙏

I pray that G-d showers you with endless blessings, revealed miracles, perfect health and healing, an abundance of goodness and kindness, deep fulfillment and meaning, true love and peace. He should hear your prayers and answer them in the right time. He should bring you clarity and peace of mind, and you should always see His hand guiding you through life. You should grow and learn and never be afraid of the person you can become, always striving to be better. You should know how loved you are and how beautiful you are and how important you are. You should be blessed to always be the giver. You should see the world with good happy eyes and judge others and yourself favorably. You should have a beautiful connection with your family, friends, and the Creator. You should be given exactly what you need at exactly the right time. And you should live a life of genuine happiness and love until 120.

I always think it’s hilarious when people make these kinds of comments about Orthodox women. Like girl, do I look oppressed to you?? I do whatever I want 😅

Feeling especially grateful rn for the freedom of being an American, a strong woman, a proud Jew, a baal teshuva (Orthodox by choice) - and lemme tell you: nothing stops me 😌

If anything, my faith empowers me to be a dreamer & a doer, to see every inch of G-d’s gorgeous world, and to be a better, happier, kinder person. And I’m here for that 💪 by @hgeller120
