@hiltonartsfest 2026 | A Celebration of Art, Music & Theatre

What a year for the Hilton Arts Festival!

From packed theatres and incredible performances to music, art and a wonderful atmosphere throughout the festival, Hilton 2026 was a celebration of creativity at its best.

This year also welcomed two exciting additions to the programme, with the KZN Art Fair and the pop culture offering from Just Geekin' bringing something new to the mix. Both were warmly received, adding even more variety to an already vibrant festival.

With audiences showing up, shows thriving and so much happening across the festival, it was fantastic to see the arts community come together for another memorable year.

A special thank you to @blackcoffeeeventssa, the festival’s technical supplier, for helping bring the performances and productions to life. And thank you to everyone who played a part in making Hilton Arts Festival 2026 such a success.

Here’s to celebrating the arts, bringing people together and keeping creativity thriving.

Design is about the details.

We loved our Design Zone 'Making Ground' with @belgotex, which celebrated creativity, innovation and making across KwaZulu-Natal.

Bringing together designers, makers and creative practitioners, the exhibition highlighted the breadth of design excellence emerging from the region.

Which pieces were your favourites?

A huge thank you to PANDA PAINTS for sponsoring the art materials for our first visual arts Jongosi Day - a day where schools are immersed in making, walkabouts and talks.

Since 1977, @panda_artsandcraftmaterials has been committed to making safe, high-quality and affordable art materials accessible to children and adults across South Africa. Their longstanding commitment to non-toxic formulas, safety and accessibility helped make the day possible. by @hiltonartsfest

Figuring out the shape of the Ground Hornbill makes you realize how aerodynamic this smooth criminal is.

Built from waste found at a building site and land fill.

To our artists, performers and creatives - thank you for the courage, the craft and the stories you shared with us.

To our crew, production teams, technicians, ushers, volunteers and everyone working behind the scenes - the beautiful chaos wouldn’t happen without you! Thank you for the early mornings, the long days and the care you poured into every detail.

To our sponsors, partners, vendors, market traders and supporters - thank you for believing in this festival and in the value of the arts in KZN.

We are truly grateful to have been part of the Hilton Arts Festival 2026. Our AIMPRO students had the wonderful opportunity to experience a variety of shows, engage with the arts, and create beautiful memories.

A heartfelt thank you to the FirstRand Foundation and the Hilton Arts Festival for making this enriching experience possible. We deeply appreciate your support in giving our students the opportunity to explore, learn, and enjoy the magic of the arts. ❤️🎭✨ by @hiltonartsfest

We wanted to thank everyone once again for your commitment in entering our first edition of the Young Gunz Exhibit at Just Geekin’ 2026. Our vision of platforming your exceptional efforts was realized and it was amazing to see so many young people enter and get stuck in.

Our judges for the competition were Tumelo Selamolela and Aimee Ayres from Dweba School and Jeandre Joubert, an associate of Dweba and an animation and drawing pro.

Tumelo:
“The works were really good and we encourage the winners to make full use of the prizes offered to improve their skills, broaden the knowledge and grow.”

Aimee:
“Everyone was so creative and dedicated and we are so inspired by the next generation of artists and creatives! Please keep creating and entering competitions and putting yourself out there. The world needs your art. To the winners: Please use this opportunity to keep growing! These prizes are great but they are
what YOU make of them! Engage with your peers and the community so that everyone can rise together.”

Jeandre:
“It’s so great to see young artists exploring different mediums and getting familiar with digital. Never stop studying the fundamentals whilst exploring and experimenting with new ideas. Thank you to
all participants for having the courage to submit their work!”

Once again, thank you everyone for submitting your wicked and wonderful work. Keep an eye on our socials for the next competition and all the other cool creative things that will be coming from Just Geekin’ and friends!

Respect and more fire,
