Personality is back on the menu.

Honesty Holland Street is now open.

Good food. Proper ingredients. Absolutely no interest in blending in.

Cakes baked by us, sandwiches made for lunch, and coffee worth stopping for.

All served with a little more character than strictly necessary.

14 Holland Street, Kensington.
Open now.

The stats are in.

The challenge closed on Thursday 15th, and what a few weeks it’s been. 48 riders, 172 rides, 7,200 miles and 127,000 metres of climbing, across 486 hours in the saddle. And 27 of you rode all five routes. Congratulations to all our winners!

We started Honesty Rides to bring the cycling community together, and to be a place riders can count on along the longer routes: somewhere to stop, refuel and meet others doing the same. Seeing so many of you out there, sharing roads, stories and tables, has been the best part of it.

This was our first time doing anything like this, and at this scale. We’ve learnt a huge amount along the way, and we’re excited to put it all into making the next one even better.

We’d love Honesty Rides to grow into a community that belongs to everyone in it, and we’re here to support it every step of the way.

So tell us: what did you enjoy, and what could be better? What would you like to see next, whether that’s new routes, group rides, events, or something from us when you stop mid-ride? Let us know in the comments or send us a DM.

More rides, events and challenges are on the way. Thank you for riding with us. See you on the road. by @honestygroup

It has taken twelve years to build Honesty to the point where I feel confident enough to venture into London. We are a values-led food and coffee shop business, trusted by the communities we are lucky enough to serve.

London is competitive and fast moving, but I know we can hold our own.

We believe in strong communities, in making sustainable choices as we grow, and in being fully transparent with our customers about what goes into the food we make. What we offer is simple: good food, made properly, from ingredients we are happy to tell you about.

London is ready for a brand that does what it says it will do. And we are ready for London.

Something is coming. Honesty Rides will soon take to the road - five routes winding their way between our locations, with a proper reward waiting at the end of each one.

Complete a single route and there will be a voucher to enjoy at any Honesty site. Complete all five and there will be a bespoke Honesty cycling jersey, made by @santiniuk , to call your own. Honesty Rides will be riding alongside @banjo_cycles and Specialized Concept Store @specialized_uk , with a limited run of the jerseys going on sale too, every penny raised going to the @starlightchildrensfoundation

Start getting those tyres pumped.

We’ve been quietly busy. Our granola is something we’ve been making in our kitchens for years and it is finally available to take home. We’ve also just started making our own lemon curd. @beckysbeezzzs honey, which many of you will already know from our shops, is now available online too, including their Runny and Soft Set honeys.

Real ingredients, nothing you wouldn’t recognise.

Find it in store & online for collection. by @honestygroup

When something is not good enough the only solution is to improve it. That’s why we have partnered with @harthchocolate to bring you a much better drinking chocolate. We maintain the highest standards when it comes to the ingredients we use and the products we sell; the chocolate we were providing did not live up to those standards.

A few months ago we were put in touch with Harth Chocolate, a Somerset based brand that started in its founders’ kitchen during lockdown.
Rebecca and Rich were looking for a better drinking chocolate, free from additives, flavour enhancers and sugar and decided to make it themselves.

Harth Chocolate is a premium drinking chocolate. It is organic, fair-trade, coconut blossom sweetened, unalkalised cocoa, in plastic-free and compostable packaging. It tastes like chocolate because it is chocolate.

We are serving it with the respect it is due, just as we serve our coffee. It’s a drink for everyone to enjoy, not just children, and it’s too good to save for winter.

Something else worth popping in for!

Let us know what you think. If you love it, we also have retail packages online on Click&Collect, so you can make it in a pan at home. by @honestygroup

COMPETITION

There is something about drinking coffee from a mug you truly love that makes the whole ritual feel different. Slower, somehow. More deliberate.

We have been working with Nynke at @nyn.ceramics on a very small, very beautiful run of handmade ceramic mugs, and they are here. Each one is individual - made by hand, glazed by hand, and genuinely unlike any other. We are honestly a little in love with them.

To celebrate their arrival, we are running a competition.

We want to know: where is your favourite place to drink your coffee?

To enter: follow @honestygroup , repost this post, and send us a DM with a photo of your favourite coffee spot along with a couple of words.

We will be posting our favourites throughout the week, with your permission of course, and at the end we will pick a winner.

The winner takes home one of Nynke’s ceramic mugs, a Cupboard Filler bundle, a copy of What’s for Dinner Second Helpings, and a £20 cookery class voucher. The competition closes on 14th May. The lucky winner will be announced by 21st May - keep an eye on your inbox.

The mugs will also be available to purchase in store and online.

We cannot wait to see your entries, and good luck! by @honestygroup

For centuries, long before anyone had dreamt up a meal deal, people needed real food they could carry with them. In medieval Spain, workers and pilgrims wrapped meat and vegetables in bread dough to sustain them on the long roads through Galicia. In tenth-century Persia, merchants travelling the ancient trade routes filled small pastries - Sanbosag, they called them, filled with spiced meat and nuts, food that would nourish them for days of walking. The famous traveller Ibn Battuta wrote about eating them at the Sultan’s court in Delhi circa the 1330s.

Two foods, born thousands of miles apart, from the same simple idea: honest, portable, hand-held meals made with care and real ingredients. That is what we love about them. They were never designed to sit under a heat lamp or come out of a factory. They were made by hand, with good ingredients and nothing more.

Our empanadas are made from scratch, right here, with fillings we are proud of. And our samosas come from @currynightswithnandita , one of our Cookery School tutors, who makes them properly, the way she was taught. They are available at Horlicks Quarter & Thames Quarter - and they are halal. Nandita will also be selling her wonderful frozen curries from our Dummer Down location from next week - if you haven’t tried them yet, they are well worth it.

Better still, you can learn to cook like this yourself. Nandita teaches her brilliant Punjabi Feast class at our Cookery School, where she takes you on a tour of the Punjab and guides you through traditional techniques and authentic ingredients before you sit down to enjoy the fruits of your labour with a well-earned glass of wine. She is one of a wonderful roster of tutors who teach everything from South Indian delicacies to Amalfi Coast cooking, Eastern Mediterranean feasts to beautiful breads. Have a look at our website to find something that excites you.

This is the kind of food we believe in. Food with a story, food with provenance, food made by people who genuinely care about what goes into it. by @honestygroup
