Yesterday’s branding shoot reminded me what it feels like to be on the other side of the camera.

CeeCee and Ken created an environment where I didn’t have to worry about whether I looked awkward or if I was doing it “right.” I could laugh, move around, be serious, and simply be myself.

They even had my type of music (Christian music) playing in the studio, which made the space feel peaceful and welcoming from the moment I walked in, just a great vibe.

With my acting and modeling background, I realized yesterday how much I missed being in front of the camera. It felt familiar, like riding a bike. For a few hours, I got to step back into that world, and I soaked up every second of it.

As a director, though, yesterday reminded me of something I believe with my whole heart.

People do their best work when they feel comfortable.

Whether you’re directing actors, photographing clients, or leading a crew, the environment you create matters. When people feel safe, valued, and encouraged, they stop worrying about being perfect and start giving you something real.

It’s exactly how I strive to run my own film sets, and yesterday was a beautiful reminder of why that matters.

Thank you, CeeCee @pinksaltphotos and Ken with @hyperfocusedmedia for creating such an incredible experience. I can’t wait to see the final photos.

Met Elton at an Earth Day festival in Vallejo—had to ask for a portrait.

When the look is this intentional, you don’t need direction.

Personal style is the powerful form of self-expression— even more pronounced in color.

Unmistakable!

10 things my husband said that rewired my brain chemistry. How about you? Was there something your partner said that healed parts of you you didn’t even know needed healing?🤍

This photo feels like a dream. I don’t care what anyone says — San Francisco is a magical, unforgettable place.

If you ever visit SF, park near the Embarcadero (or ferry in if you’re local), hop on the F Market & Wharves on a foggy morning or evening, and tell me SF + the F line + Karl the Fog doesn’t equal dreaminess. This will probably be my favorite photo I take in 2025 — already calling it.

Thank you @fishermanswharf @sfgov @karlthefog and @sfmsr @leicastoresf @leica_camera @voigtlander_offiziell

Days like this remind me how lucky I am to witness love expressed through so many different cultures and traditions. One day of this multi-day celebration took us to the gurdwara for a Sikh ceremony—quiet, sacred, and rich with meaning.

From the bride’s chooda ceremony (the blessing of bangles), to the vibrant colors worn by family and friends, every moment is layered with intention. The groom arrived surrounded by loved ones, was welcomed with flower garlands, and together the couple circled the Guru Granth Sahib four times—each laav marking a deeper commitment to one another and their shared spiritual path.

It’s an honor every single time to witness traditions carried across generations. Grateful to document it all.

My favorite model stepped in while I was setting up for a shoot. Just testing light, but this one stayed with me.

There’s royalty in her gaze.
Strength in her stillness.
And a whole legacy in that light.

Philippines in her fire.
Ethiopia in her grace.
All of it wrapped in the spirit of a girl becoming.

This is more than a portrait—it’s a declaration.

And every queen deserves her crown. 👸🏾
𝗦𝘄𝗶𝗽𝗲 𝗟𝗲𝗳𝘁 to see the symbol of her royalty—formed from 𝘓𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵, 𝘓𝘰𝘷𝘦, & 𝘐𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴.

We can’t wait to see who she becomes.
