Describe my 6 cheese salmon ziti in one word. I’ll go first: satisfaction. 🤌🏽

Salmon:
season with salt, pepper, smoked paprika, Trader Joe’s chili lime + garlic. Top with hot honey + butter. Air fry at 400 for 8 mins until it flakes.

Ziti:
warm up Rao’s four cheese sauce, stir in fresh mozzarella + parmesan (that’s 6 cheeses), oregano, garlic, salt, pepper. Splash of pasta water, add ziti + diced stewed tomatoes. Toss, plate, top with salmon.

Save this for a quick and dinner this week. Prep time: 20 mins total.

Entry 002: ‘Softening Into the Season’

I started fall with a relaxing getaway. In this season I have no grand declarations, just decisions made about what I want my life to be, where I’m focusing my energy, and where I’m giving my love.

I spent half my week in Phoenix enjoying three of my favorite things: my cameras, a concert, and a moody ambiance. Slow mornings, soft light, and a hotel that felt made for this kind of exhale. I let myself take my time, capture what caught my eye, and be fully present for the music.

Somewhere in the quiet, it clicked. I don’t want a life I’m constantly escaping from. I want one I enjoy coming home to.

Manifestation is a decision. You decide what you want, and then you live it. This season, I’m choosing ease. I’m choosing me.

A life curated, with intention.

This one pot sweet potato hash with turkey sausage is the perfect hearty but healthy meal prep. Simple ingredients, one pan, big flavor, and it works for lunch, dinner, or breakfast with an egg on top.

Meet the newest member of my collection. The coveted ‘it-girl’ camera, aka the girl PS5, is finally mine. I patiently waited months for the Canon G7X Mark III to restock, so yes, the resellers won this round, but she was so worth it. Come along as I unbox, accessorize, and set her up. This is camera is number 3 of 5 off my wish list, and the crown jewel of my entire lineup. I went with the silver instead of the all black, because it’s not like anything else I have and it has more of a vintage, iconic look. This little @canonusa powerhouse is perfect for capturing my life’s adventurous memories . This is the gift that keeps on giving and the quality is PRICELESS. 📸

My @davidyurman collection is growing and I thought it would be fun to bring you all on my quest of building my jewelry collection. If you know anything about sensory issues you know this unboxing was a long time coming. 🤣

Anywho, today we are building my stack together. The DY Madison Chain, Classic Cable Heart Station, and Buckle Classic Cable bracelets are the perfect addition to the pieces I already have. I love playing around with different textures and sizes. Jewelry is so personal and an awesome way to exude your individualism and personality.

SN: Please do not judge me for opening Valentine’s Day gifts in April. All that matters is that these beautiful pieces are getting their shine and finally getting put to use. 💌🤣🙃

Spend a wellness day with me @remedyplace WeHo. 🧖🏽‍♀️

This definitely wasn’t a typical spa day. However, it was intentional. I visited Remedy Place in West Hollywood and did lymphatic massage, 60 minutes in a private sauna, guided breathwork, meditation, a B12 shot, and 6 minutes in a cold plunge on my first attempt. 🥹

A full nervous system reset.

Five years into my healing journey and I’ve learned that stress is a thief. Of your health, your clarity, your peace. So I stopped waiting until I felt ready and started doing something about it.
Taking care doesn’t always look soft. Sometimes it looks like doing the hard thing anyway.

Intentional living isn’t a trend for me. It’s the only way I know how to move. 🤍 #nervoussystemhealing #nervoussystemreset #nervoussystemhealth #coldplunge #lymphaticdrainage by @iamportiaphillips

I wouldn’t even call myself a fan. I’m an admirer. Of her music, her mind, her ability to rise above life’s trials while staying completely true to herself. Brandy has always been someone to be loved, appreciated, studied and celebrated.

I unfortunately did not make the tour last year and I was CRUSHED about it. But God has always had a way of turning my disappointments into something I couldn’t have scripted better myself. (IYKYK 😭) This encounter was intentional, inspiring, intimate, something just for me.

Life has a way of blocking you from yourself. For the longest time I have been trying to silence the creator in me, disconnecting from that part of my identity in a way that has been heavy. I am not a singer or a musician but I am a curator, a visionary, and an innovator, and somewhere along the way I stopped tapping in. Being in Brandy’s presence, a woman who has fought through her own silencing and come back to herself every single time, pulled something out of me. I felt seen in a way I wasn’t expecting. My spark is reignited.

I am in one of my favorite cities since I was a child, Los Angeles, meeting one of my favorite artists of all time and it is so surreal 😭

THE Vocal Bible. Our Black Cinderella. Moesha. The epitome of class and grace. And one of the most genuine humans I’ve had the pleasure of being in the presence of. Thank you @brandy, for being vulnerable enough to share every phase that made you who you are. 🤍🐐 #brandy #brandynorwood #thevocalbible #brocka #phasesbooktour by @iamportiaphillips

Not all La La Land locations are created equal. The Beverly Hills Reserve is in a category of its own and I came here with a purpose. As someone who takes food and drink quality seriously this was the only place that made sense for my first pour review on @platesxpours

Ceremonial grade matcha with ‘The Most Perfect Simple Matcha Latte’ that lived up to every single word of its name. A Vanilla Bean Latte that held its own. And crème brûlée overnight oats I am still thinking about.
Then there is the chrome matcha set and exclusive items you can only purchase at this location. I got the last of all three. Like everything else on this trip I was right on time. It was just for me.

Entry 001: ‘A New Sound’

I am not giving Las Vegas a fair shot.

I have been here for years, existing, not exploring. Escaping every chance I get. Going through the motions without actually showing up for the city I call home.

Something is shifting. I am making a decision. No more autopilot. I am going to actually meet my city.

Someone I love dearly gifted me this experience. A ticket to see Samara Joy. Solo. It takes a special kind of sureness to be loved and supported and still choose to meet yourself. To stay tapped into who you are outside of everyone else. To protect your identity. To do the things that fulfill you without guilt. Happiness is an inside job. You can be loved deeply by someone but you must be cognizant of loving yourself more.

Live music and the performing arts have always been home for me. I am tapping back into that to reconnect with my creativity. Intentionally. Not just with familiar sounds but with new ones. Jazz. This city. All unexplored. All necessary.

These two shows were EVERYTHING.

I missed my dinner reservation. The jazz club was on the same street. I was able to get the last seat in the house. Front row. As Jalen Baker and Jason Hainsworth were performing and I am sitting there having dinner completely at peace. It felt like it was movie.

Jazz was my blind spot. This night opened my eyes and changed that completely. Some experiences give you a new kind of clarity.
