IB sailing team at @rcycburnham having a fantastic summer day sail along the crouch river. A casual sail turned competitive with racing the LBS and Oxford skippers. Some really good races from us and all great work from the stellar crew Sylvia, Tanvi from LBS, (and Marco coming back sailing after nearly a year after his baby 🍼). Many thanks to @lbssailing for organising. taken in Royal Corinthian Yacht Club by @ib.sailing

Blue skies, full sails and a brilliant day of racing on the water 🌊⛵️ Did someone say Mediterranean or Burnham.

Huge thanks to everyone who came out for the Salty Dogs at @rcycburnham - three schools, great company, and some seriously close racing. Cheers to all the crews who showed up and gave it everything.

Thats Malta regatta wrapped up 🚀...after two intense days of racing in the sun with low wind and lots of waves we managed to place 5th overall out of 12 boats with one point behind fourth ⛵! Very happy with the result given quality of teams this year and experience of our crew! We had a fantastic time on the water and a really good vibe on the boat 🩷 taken in Royal Malta Yacht Club by @ib.sailing

Last weekend at the Polimi Regatta in Sardinia 🇮🇹

13 universities. 4 wins from 6 races. A narrow second place overall.

Heavy wind, close racing, our team delivered. Proud to represent the College on the international stage

Thank you Imperial, and the crew: Clemens, Florian, Thelma, Dorottya taken in Yacht Club Cala dei Sardi by @ib.sailing

The one and only photo taken (thank you @⁨~Patrick⁩) from training day at Queen Mary on May 12 - Clemens and I took out a boat each and got some keelboat race practice done ahead of the MBA regattas coming up this year.

Ahoi sailors 👋. Some impressions from our second regatta of the season - Helly Hansen Racing Series on 11/12 Apr. Racing on 41ft yachts in the Solent we fought hard for a spot in the final. Despite a channel marker incident and gusts up to 30 knots we managed to come in second, beating LBS, and qualify for the final. Also thanks to LBS who kindly organised a joint dinner at RORC clubhouse in Cowes by @ib.sailing

After a total of 19 gruelling races 🤯 and a bit of luck we came in third overall at the British Keelboat League 🥉! Very happy with the result and the great crew work ⛵

Photos from Ajax sailing day on 17 October (5 October was cancelled due to Storm Amy!)

We all launched the boat out of a marina under sail (turns out this is a hard thing to do - some lessons learned!!), sailing on a tidal river, one laying down to enjoy the east coast countryside.

I'll organise something like this in March/April again in groups of 4 - it's a cheap and fun way to learn how to sail. Do PM me so I can remind you when I do this again! by @ib.sailing

Back in June I organised the 2nd edition of the sailing leadership weekend. The 8 of us used 2 keelboats and our sailing skills in a head to head 'experiment', where we tried to validate a management theory that suggests that 'A leader imitating its closest rival is a valuable strategy to stay ahead'.

This meant coming up with reading up a bit of theory from a research paper, some case studies, and designing 4 scenarios in a workshop and testing these out in real life!

We had fun learning how to sail, making new friends, and some friendly competition at the Royal Harwich YC. I'm trying to find new and interesting ways to bring theory to practice via sailing. If anyone has any ideas or would like to collaborate on something similar next year - do let me know!! taken in Royal Harwich Yacht Club by @ib.sailing
