I’m excited to announce that my latest video has finally been published on the Tony Knights Fitness YouTube channel! After months of trying to coordinate our schedules, I finally managed to make my way to David McLean’s villa one Sunday morning at 06:45. We completed a kettlebell session in extreme heat, with temperatures reaching 38°C. This video is unique because it has been divided into two sessions: Session 1 focuses on movement, mobility and fitness exercises suitable for anyone beginning their fitness journey, as well as members of the older generation looking to stay active and improve their overall wellbeing. Session 2 is dedicated entirely to kettlebell training, covering techniques, movements and practical exercises to help you train safely and effectively. Tomorrow, I’m stepping well and truly outside my comfort zone as I train with Dina. Dina may be known to many as a social media influencer, but behind the online presence is something far more impressive , she’s a rehabilitation specialist, physical trainer and educator, with a wealth of knowledge about movement, mobility and how the body should really work. I’ve spent some time researching Dina’s training methods and watching some of her sessions in preparation for tomorrow… And quite frankly, she scares me to death! 😂 I have a feeling this is going to be very different from my usual gym sessions. Less about how much weight I can lift and more about discovering just how well or badly my 60 year old body actually moves! One thing is guaranteed: I’m going to learn something. The other guarantee? For more than two hours, we tabbed across the training area at a pace that tested the legs, lungs and mindset. But this session was about far more than physical fitness. As the miles passed beneath our boots, the conversation became increasingly serious, tackling subjects that need to be spoken about openly: Mental wellbeing. Drug addiction. Peptides. Steroid use. And the growing pressures and influence of social media within today’s fitness industry. It was physical. It was thought-provoking.
