I knew I was going to an HBCU. 💛💙 Though my story may have looked a little different, I never stopped believing it would happen. I just didn’t know when I was going to finish but I did it! 🎓

Growing up, A Different World gave me so much motivation. I loved Whitley Gilbert, I loved Dwayne Wayne, and I loved the entire cast. More than anything, I loved the message behind the series: real life, education, community, friendship, growth, and the HBCU experience.

That show helped me see a vision before I was able to live it for myself. My journey didn’t happen on a perfect timeline, but I made it to the finish line and becoming a proud Johnson C. Smith University alumna will always mean something special to me. 💛💙
