Well here goes another 7 minutes of everyone’s life. Going through the TikTok backlog at the moment but this is an explanation of how to understand the @statelibraryqld and the significance of good public design in city making. #architecture #brisbane by @izziewhitecreative

No I will not be explaining further. Make Brisbane pink!!!! #architecture #design #vernacular by @izziewhitecreative

My singular best achievement for architectural advocacy was having @chrisminnsmp social team repost this on TikTok. So it’s time to go up here!!

I originally recorded this back in July, so it’s a couple months old now but never too late to talk about good housing alternatives. It’s also the last week that the $1 plans are available.

Well, well, well, an architecture tour of my favourite precinct in Australia? A free learning resource that teaches the public about art and architecture? Sign me up.

State Library of Queensland’s new audio tours will talk you through some of the biggest art commissions and architectural decisions that have brought our much-loved state library to life. They’re free, they’re on the website and they’re worth a listen.

Ok I’ll put SOME context in the caption(s)
#fremantle

@darawnaturecoffeelounge and most of Freo is a perfect example of why nothing needs to be pure white in an Aussie context. Soft pinks, yellows, blues and greens all help shift glare while reflecting heat.

Bought a memory home with me. Purchased this piece by Artist Narpula Scobie Napurrla from @japingka_ in Fremantle.

It’s a painting of her ancestral country in the Western Desert, dominated by open sandhill country.

The old Port Authority building is one of the purist forms of modernism I’ve ever seen built in Australia. A stunner that needs some serious love - imagine it as a hotel (who said that).

Exploratory research into sustainable fashion textile production with @design_steward @circularfashionfestival and i’m sure many other brilliant and clever brains. Hosted by @fremantledesignweek

Stayed at @gardefremantle with hand painted textiles by @jordy_hewitt with @foolscapstudio

The old South Freo power station. Endless possibilities. But for now, just a security risk. by @izziewhitecreative

Welp - guess I have to move interstate again. Had THEEEE literal best time in Fremantle as part of @fremantledesignweek. The most insane program of events aimed at connecting the public with design in their lives, homes and cities. So stoked to be a part of it. Love u allllll wish I could stay longer. by @izziewhitecreative

It’s not what you think!!! 😜

Ruffled some feathers presenting a divisive topic last week - why we need more architects to leave architecture, not because we need less of them but because we need more of them in policy and governance if we want to see meaningful change in our cities…

At least that’s the pitch! Any takers??

Insane jacket and skirt by @walkerknit, styled by @__rrenuka !!! ❣️❣️

Thanks @archicon2026 for having me :)))) Also got to present next to @nickwhite49 who is the literal reason I started posting! by @izziewhitecreative

Sometimes it has nothing to do with architecture and everything to do with small businesses and very average old buildings. @communitywinehouse #northcote #urbanism #melbourne by @izziewhitecreative

Suburbs aren’t what you think they are. At least, that’s what we’re trying to prove. Can we design suburbs to look after the people that live there, create opportunities for work and protect our landscape? Short answer, yes.

Where? Parkville, Melbourne

When? Friday Oct 2nd

Brisbane has no ‘corner’ or ‘neighbourhood’ pubs and this is the reason why! Gate way drug into understanding policy is usually the no. 1 thing holding us back from amazing cities. by @izziewhitecreative

What’s the vote on overpasses in cities? Do they offer fun secret squirrel routes and provide shaded space below - or do they disconnect pedestrians from the ground and give priority to cars? by @izziewhitecreative
