FGC Enugu Class of 2016 (The Trailblazers)🥹

10 years later, same faces and new stories.

Words can not explain how grateful we are to God for the gift of life and the provision to make this reunion a success.

While walking down the roads, hostels, classrooms, etc, we were overcome with acute nostalgia for our days in the school. The memories are too much to count, but we hold unto them and rejoice for going through this amazing institution of learning.
In a special way, we remember our set mates who have departed this world and pray that God grant them eternal rest.

We carried out a dental outreach, basic life support training, interactive conversations with staff/students, etc.

A decade down, forever to go. We are reunited and ready to keep the bond for the betterment of all.

PRO UNITATE❤️

Driving positive change through advocacy has continued to prove effective in fostering a better society.

We were at Stella Maris College, an only boys school in Port-Harcourt, Rivers State, to engage the students in a town hall conversation about leadership, career path, and personal hygiene.
(Over 100 boys were in attendance <Js1 - Ss2>)

This is my last Community Development Service activity as a Corp member/Program Coordinator of the group, and it gladdens my heart that alongside my amazing team, we were able to make tremendous impact during my service year.

Yesterday, 14th February 2025, to commemorate “Valentines Day” celebration, the Nysc Gender Vanguard Community Development Service Group of Port-Harcourt local government area, in Rivers state visited Mile one market to carry out an awareness campaign.

Popularly known around the world as the day to share and show love, we distributed edibles, sanitary pads, clothes, money, etc to those who needed them.

The goal of this project is to put smiles on people’s faces, reminding them to share genuine love and to desist from violence which endangers the lives of others.

Special thanks to God for the success of this activity, we pray that our efforts yield and inspire people we came across, so we can gradually make our society a violent free place.

Gender Vanguard!! Human Rights Matter✊🏼

The Community Development Service (CDs) Group, in the NYSC, is a sector that brings corp members together as a team, to brainstorm and develop ideas in other to make impact in the locality assigned to them.
I’m part of the executives of my CDs group, working in the position of the Assistant Program Coordinator.

Our slogan as Gender Vanguard CDs group is “Human Rights Matter”. We join in solidarity, to beckon on the importance of valuing human rights, upholding the mantra “One for All, All for One”.
Strategic communication through partnerships is a step we take to expand our horizon of collaboration and cooperation to reach a wider audience in our advocacy drive.

The Gender Based Violence Program Manger in the Rivers State Ministry of Health, welcomed us as we paid a courtesy visit to her office, to share our experiences so far and notify her of our concerns and the goals we hope to achieve.

She assured us of her unalloyed support and commitment in working with the team.
