“We are not powerless. We are POWERFUL!” 🔥
— In the Heights

Hochul came through with the HOOKS! 💙🔥

The energy in the room at Latinos for Hochul-Adams was absolutely infectious!

It was an honor to attend alongside NAWBO NYC Chapter President Neena Dutta, representing the National Association of Women Business Owners NYC Chapter as Vice President of Advocacy, in support of Governor Kathy Hochul and her running mate, Adrienne Adams.

But this evening was especially meaningful to me because my journey into politics began with someone telling me NO.

In 2019, I worked alongside the New York City Council to advocate for Intro 1293, legislation that expanded opportunities for Native American and Asian American business owners within New York City’s Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprise (M/WBE) program.

And here’s where things come full circle.

Adrienne Adams was one of the co-sponsors of that very legislation!

Years ago, we were fighting to ensure that communities too often overlooked had access to opportunities. Today, seeing Adrienne Adams on the roster as a candidate for Lieutenant Governor reminds me how the work we do at the local level can help shape the future of leadership.

As a Native American, Mexican American mother and business owner, I know firsthand that representation is about more than being seen. It’s about changing policies, opening doors, and making sure the next generation doesn’t have to fight the same battles.

And what started it all? Someone telling me NO.

But here’s the thing…

You can’t tell a Texas girl NO and expect her to walk away!

Especially one with big Texas dreams, a little New York grit, and a whole lot of faith!

Sometimes that NO is exactly what you need to hear to get 'er DONE.

The room was on FIRE, the energy was infectious, and I was reminded why I continue to show up.

Because when women, communities, and leaders come together, powerful things happen.

We are not powerless. WE ARE POWERFUL!

Some connections begin with a simple hello online and turn into something truly special.

Grateful for my dear friend @vanessacoppes Vanessa Coppes, Editor-in-Chief of BELLA Magazine @bellamediaco , and the beautiful reminder that women in media and production can and should show up for one another.

Whether it’s at a panel, an event, behind the camera, in front of the camera, or simply over a cup of coffee and five eggs (yes, five! 😂 thank you @eatatovereasy ), showing up matters.

Growing up, there weren’t many Latina women in media to look up to. And when you finally spot another unicorn in this industry, you don’t just acknowledge her. You celebrate her, support her, and bask in all that she represents.

Because collaboration doesn’t mean competition. It means opening doors, making room at the table, sharing opportunities, and cheering each other on through every season.

Vanessa, thank you for always coming to the table and, more importantly, for always inviting me to have a seat at yours. That’s what genuine sisterhood and leadership look like.

I’m grateful to know and love you, not just for the incredible work you do, but for the woman you are.

Here’s to more Latina voices, more women telling our stories, and more opportunities to lift each other up.

Until our next cuppa cawfee, my friend! ☕️❤️ #RockyBalboa

We tell our kids to log off, get some sleep, and take a break from their screens but the platforms they use every day don’t always make that easy.

As a mother, business owner, and advocate who has spent years creating opportunities for young people, I believe deeply in responsible development and responsible growth. Innovation should move us forward, but never at the expense of the next generation.

Our children are growing up in a world where technology is part of their education, creativity, friendships, and future careers. We have a responsibility to make sure the digital spaces they grow up in are designed with their safety and well-being in mind.

@YouTube and @tiktok_us can do more to give young people and families stronger protections online.

Thank you, @NewYorkStateAG Attorney General Letitia James, for continuing to make young people’s online safety a priority. She is a woman of service who understands that protecting our communities means looking out for every generation.

We can support innovation. We can support business and economic growth. And we can do it responsibly while protecting our children and preparing them to lead what comes next.

That is the kind of progress I will always stand behind. by @jaclynhelloworld

From freshly baked chocolate cakes (thank you @soupceo @rayirizarry @momofgirls0515 @beth_urod ) , to flowers, to friends, to so much love… this birthday season has been about one simple thing: the fig. 🤎

One random day, a dear friend handed me a fig from a tree and said:

“God created this fig. For this season. For you.”

And I cried.

Something so simple carried so much meaning. A reminder that everything has its season. That God is intentional. That even the smallest things can arrive exactly when we need them.

So for my birthday brunch at @seaspicerooftopclub , I gave everyone a fig.

For this season. For you.

And today, service at @thearsenalsa was about “awe” — remembering that each of us is occupying one small space, one chapter, one season of something so much greater than ourselves.

Maybe that is what 44 is teaching me: to stay in awe. To recognize the beauty in what God has already placed in front of me. To honor the people who share these seasons with me. And to trust what He is preparing next.

Here’s to more figs.
More seasons.
More moments of awe.
And never losing sight of the God who created it all.

Thank you, God, for these 44 years — every lesson, every person, every season, and every fig. 🤎

For this season. For you. by @jaclynhelloworld

44. 🎂🎂

This birthday feels different.

44 represents building and foundation and in this season, I understand both more deeply than ever.

I am building. Dreams. Businesses. National Community. Legacy. But my greatest foundation will always be my children.

They will never have to wonder what it looks like to have a dream and actually go after it. I want them to live boldly, never shrinking themselves or the gifts God placed within them, while always recognizing the powerful Spirit guiding our steps.

I know I didn’t get here alone. There were doors I couldn’t have opened, tables I couldn’t have placed myself at, and paths I couldn’t always understand.

At 44, I pray for the wisdom to build what I am called to build, the courage to walk boldly in my purpose, and the faith to trust where God leads us next. I know God will provide all the fire, energy, and strength needed for this next season.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.” — Proverbs 3:5–6

Chapter 44: Build boldly. Stay grounded. Trust God. Leave something that lasts. Eat more tacos.🌮🌮 by @jaclynhelloworld

Yesterday was an incredible reminder of what happens when vision, leadership and investment in education come together.

I was honored to attend the ribbon-cutting celebrations at St. Philip’s College @gospc , including the unveiling of the HEB Black Box Theatre, Cafeteria & Veterans Hall, and Engineering facilities, each representing another investment in creating spaces where students can learn, innovate, create and thrive.

A special congratulations to Dr. Adena Williams Loston and her leadership. For nearly 20 years, she has helped shape the growth and transformation of St. Philip’s College while continuing to elevate its historic legacy as an HBCU and Hispanic-Serving Institution. Her leadership is a powerful example of what long-term vision and commitment to community can accomplish.

As a leading HBCU in the nation, St. Philip’s continues to demonstrate that its history is not simply something to celebrate—it is a foundation for building what comes next.

I was especially excited to see the HEB @heb Black Box Theatre and the continued investment in spaces dedicated to the arts, storytelling, workforce development, veterans and engineering. These facilities will serve generations of students and help prepare them for opportunities right here in San Antonio and beyond.

Grateful to sign one of the final beams of this historic building with my Texas roots Jaclyn Alderete Tacoronte.

Congratulations to Dr. Loston, the faculty, staff, students, partners and the entire St. Philip’s College community on this exciting new chapter. This is what investing in students, institutions and the future of our city looks like.

A picture is worth a thousand words—but this one represents a thousand performances. 🪗

I can’t wait to share more about the incredible Eva Ybarra, La Reina del Acordeón, and her story as part of the documentary we have been working on. Highlighting part of her artistry, perseverance, purpose, and legacy is one of the many stories our team has had the privilege of documenting over the past year.

I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who has trusted us with their stories and sat down with us for an interview over the past year. Each conversation has helped us preserve another piece of the history, culture, and music that continues to shape generations.

A special thank you to Celeste Cavazos of Conjunto Heritage Taller for suggesting that we include Eva in the documentary. What an incredible addition to this journey. @ccblu217 @conjuntoheritagetaller @jmtmedia.co

And perhaps the most meaningful part for me: this interview brought me right back to Indian Creek, the neighborhood where I grew up. Talk about a full-circle moment. Coming home to my roots while documenting the people who have helped preserve our cultural roots makes this project even more personal.

More to come. 🎥🪗
