The Volunteer Services Council for the San Antonio State Supported Living Center proudly hosts the Fiesta Festival; marking the first Fiesta-sanctioned event dedicated to individuals with special needs.

Since 1994, the Council has remained committed to creating meaningful, enriching experiences for this incredible community. This festival is a true celebration of inclusion and diversity; filled with live entertainment, food, and engaging activities that reflect the vibrant spirit of San Antonio.

NO BIG DEAL!! Just a documentary series that I’ve been working on with @nyctourism reaching over 4 MILLION VIEWS to date, promoted at 300 bus stops and millions of runs on digital link screens throughout the city.

With this new series, NYC Local Legends, we tapped some notable New Yorkers — creatives, entrepreneurs, leaders… those with true connections to their communities — to show us exactly what makes their neighborhood unlike any other place in the world. We specifically chose some dynamic neighborhoods that don’t typically get the shine that they deserve, to drive visitation, particularly supporting small businesses along the way. As a born and bred Brooklynite, I can tell you this series is as much for New Yorkers as it is for travelers coming in. No matter how long you’ve been here, there’s always something you didn’t know about somewhere 20 minutes away. It’s the city you can never know everything about, stop learning and having new experiences in, and I love that for us.

Talking to the millions…..

A couple weeks ago I had the honor of being invited by @kingronthedon to speak on a panel about COMMUNITY STORYTELLING at the @nyctourism Annual meeting alongside @djspynfo (Bronx) and @jaclynhelloworld (Staten Island). This was the biggest crowd I’ve ever had the opportunity to speak in-front of with a little over 1000 people in attendance. Your boy went up there and owned it. We talked about our projects within the community and the significant roles that our respective communities play in making NYC the epicenter of the WORLD.

For anyone scared to talk about the work that they are doing or the experiences that make them who they are, I have one thing to say.

You have two choices in life, you either get up on that stage (metaphorically speaking) and you tell your story or you wait and pray that someone else decides to tell it for you.

I’m manifesting it and claiming it here, I want to do a @ted talk on building + maintaining community.
