Integrity is the bridge between our words and actions. When we fail to keep our promises, our credibility crumbles, creating internal conflicts and eroding confidence. Let your word be a reflection of your true intentions….it’s a savage truth but integrity is EVERYTHING.

What do you think?? How does this sit with you?

Love should not be the only reason you decide to marry someone.

Dating, engagement and marriage all present opportunities to communicate, align, support, challenge and learn from one another.

One of the biggest areas for improvement that I’ve seen in my line of work is for any relationship to work or last, ongoing communication MUST happen.

Love and the emotions that comes with it, is not the only deciding factor to rely on when entering a relationship. This can blind us from our past, cause us to miss red flags in the other person and believe that the positive/heightened feelings experienced in the beginning of the relationship will always be there and at the same intensity.

Ensuring that there is a common set of values/principles to live by and from is essential. Where is the relationship headed? How do each of you get better by being together? How do each of you need to be supported, challenged and loved? How do you take care of yourself?

Having answers to these questions will create a strong foundation to build on. Yes they can change, but start with something sound and evolve from there. communicate as often as you can/need, checking in to see where growth is occurring and where things are falling through the cracks… Then take action on the adjustment, together.

When these things don’t happen, one person tends to do more work than the other or feel less valued, unsupported, unappreciated or unloved, leading to withdrawal, avoidance, resentment, bitterness, anger and frustration. These feelings/emotions compounded over years/decades = unhealthy behaviors.

Working on yourself while working with your partner is how you succeed in the relationship. Finding someone who wants to go on that journey with you, even though it will be hard and messy, is the šŸ”‘.

I am constantly looking for ways to challenge myself mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually. I find that through purposely placing myself in pressure, tension and challenge, I’m gifted with wisdom and insight that help me serve others more powerfully. I become upgrade. My capacity for pain increases. Clarity sharpens. Discipline strengthens. Vision expands. Focus intensifies. Grit reinforces.

Back in 2020, I attempted to complete 3 marathons in 24 hours while partnering up with @theembracingproject to raise thousands of dollars to support their cause/mission. I finished in 26 hours and 57minutes.

What an experience. It was the hardest thing I had done to that point. Had a lot of mental battles. Grateful for my body, the community support and the weather that didn’t make it easy.

This was such a memorable experience that I’ll be going one step further this year.

This October I’ll be completing 100 miles in 36 hours. The route is set. Currently sifting through which organization(s) to support. The dates will be scheduled shortly.

Stay tuned.

If any of you want to support, run with Me or donate, lmk and we can connect.

Here’s to 2024 and entering the ULTRA space.

Do hard things.

Fromm, psychoanalyst and author of Man for Himself, was largely concerned with how people avoid the discomfort of freedom and responsibility by clinging to external authorities, ideologies, or rigid self-concepts, anything that gives them certainty so they don’t have to keep grappling with hard, open questions about who they are and how to live. In that context, ā€œthe quest for certaintyā€ isn’t neutral. It’s often a defense mechanism.

People chase certainty not because it’s true, but because uncertainty is uncomfortable, and Fromm saw that discomfort avoidance as something that stunts a person’s growth.

Certainty is a need for fixed answers, a stable, closed picture of how things are, so you can stop questioning and just operate.

Meaning requires staying open, tolerating ambiguity, and continuing to ask why, knowing meaning will always evolve and deepen.

When we grip too tightly to certainty, we stop asking deeper questions, because asking would risk disturbing the certainty we depend on.

In today’s competitive culture, it’s easy to think: work hard now, rest hard later. But recovery isn’t something you earn. It’s not conditional. It’s a have-to.

Your body can only handle so much for so long. Little sleep. Poor nutrition. Low connection. Overtraining or undertraining. Compound these long enough, and the body breaks down, whether you’ve noticed yet or not.

If you care about how you show up for your work, your family, your community, managing your energy has to be the standard. taken in Las Vegas, Nevada by @james_silvas
