✨🥳✨30th!!!! ✨🥳✨30 years ago we tied the knot on a beautiful autumn day very similar to how it feels today-bright and sunny with that pleasing slight chill in the air. My memory takes me right back to those feelings of excitement and the enjoyment of having our families here to celebrate with us! It’s hard to believe it’s been that long but at the same time, it feels so near. I have no doubt that it was the best decision of my life and I wouldn’t trade what we have together and our LOVE for anything! Here’s to many more years with my beautiful, brilliant partner in crime, sweetheart Jessica!! Love you to the moon and back, now and forever!! by @jared_joslin

Behind every mask, there’s a story 🎭

Tomorrow, September 4 from 6 PM to 8 PM, West Town First Fridays welcomes Masquerade Menagerie, featuring artwork by Jared and Jessica Joslin at the West Town Chamber of Commerce on 1819 W Chicago Ave.

The Ukrainian Village artists have shared a studio for the past 30 years, creating two distinct but complementary bodies of work. Jared’s richly detailed paintings and Jessica’s intricate mixed media sculptures draw inspiration from the glamour, mystery and theatricality of circuses, carnivals and cabaret culture from the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Stop in for the opening, then keep the night going as you explore West Town’s galleries and creative spaces. ✨ taken in West Town Chicago by @jared_joslin

For the past several months, @jared_joslin has been working on this spectacular portrait of the brilliant @erikaishii (and gorgeous leucistic ball python Kitsune!) bringing them to life eternally in paint! 🔥🖤🔥 It was so inspiring to witness them both emerging from the canvas, step by step…truly a magical conjuring!!! ✨🔮✨Thank you @ihatealexd for this beautiful commission!!! 🖤

For close to the past 3 months I’ve been busy working away on a private commission! It is now sent out and on its way to the new collector! Yay! Look forward to sharing that piece with y’all soon but in the meantime, here’s the beginnings of something new! Inspired by a recent trip to Paris and thinking of my departed pal @tonyfitzpatrick9. The jay is an under painting that will later be glazed in various shades of green. Enjoying how it’s coming together thus far.
