‼️CRASHER TAKES ON SYDNEY‼️

i’m beyond excited to announce a month long residency at Metro Social [@metro_theatre] in Sydney with the hottest lineup. Every Wednesdays in September, FREE entry with RSVP

This is one of the biggest things I’ve taken on (so far) at CRASHER. I managed to put together such a dream lineup with local NSW and interstate acts. The Sydney music scene is underrated.

My approach to curating a program is the same as putting together a radio show. Pairing artists that don’t fit on paper but when you hear it or see it, it makes sense. They elevate each other.

idk how i put on one of the best shows of my life, go to japan, release an album and do a pop up DIY show in the span of 3 weeks 💀

The Singer by @d.c.maxwell has been out for a few weeks now. I had never managed an artist before and it’s been a ride. I’ve been a fan of DC since the first time I saw Roidz play over 10 years ago, and his star power and talent has never faded. I love seeing this project grow and seeing more people connect with it.

The album is an incredible work of great songwriting that draws upon the light and the dark. Hope and despair. Love and anxiety. It magnifies the purpose of music and art in a tumultuous world.

my favourite deep cuts from the album are ‘Strength of a Saint’ - a heart wrenching anti-conversion therapy song; and ‘In Heaven’ - a haunting song that makes you look deeper at your own demons.

anyways, realised I hadn’t done a hard post celebrating all this hard work. Go listen to the album xx

Melbourne-based booking agent, music journalist and DJ, @jess.f.u, has all the makings of an It Girl: an enviably cool job with a wardrobe to match. Although her personal style now mostly consists of pre-loved designer (Miu Miu pebble kitten mules, Ann Demeulemeester riding boots and a tartan Comme des Garçons top), Jess' teen years were another story. "I was on Tumblr a lot," she tells FJ. "I loved Lana Del Rey and I was big on the soft grunge era, too. I loved wearing ripped band T-shirts and studded socks with my American Apparel skinny jeans." Incredibly proud of this release - it’s @d.c.maxwell’s first single in 2 years and his first as a fully independent artist.

In it’s first week, it’s getting traction and playlisting on American College Radio. Interviews on our favourite radio stations @radionewzealand, @95bfm, @radioone91fm, @radioactive.fm❤️‍🔥 And coverage from @undertheradarnz, @rollingstoneaus and @somersaultmagazine, @sniffersmag 💓

the DC team is just me and him. So it’s a lot of hard work with very small budgets (aka money from our casual day jobs), so we’ve really appreciated the immense support and love from everyone
