The other day, I visited my favorite Italian baker @breadandsaltbakery who’s not at all Italian, but is more Italian than most Italians. Rick is a master of the craft, and if you love great bread, focaccia Barese ( seen here), pastries and other confections make a pilgrimage to his shop this weekend. taken in Bread and Salt by @jimlaheyssb

Fun fact : Every worker receives a Schiacciata as part of being an employee at Sullivan. This is our standard issue schiacciata. We will be producing this beauty through the beginning of November. We use varietals of organic table grapes and grown in Penn Yan by farmer and winemaker Eileen Fernan. taken in Hell's Kitchen, Manhattan by @jimlaheyssb

@david.p.kelly.96 stopped by yesterday and never ceases to amaze, I had no idea that he plays a mean balalaika! He’s in performing in the first ever Broadway version of The Fantastics, a play that ran at the Sullivan Street Playhouse, from 1960 to 2002, just north of Houston st. Though I walked by the theater countless times between the years of 1994 and 2002 until its close , I’d never seen it but remember my mom saying it was one of her favorite musicals. Now the FANTASTICKS first time on Broadway in its 50 year run …HELEN HAYES Theatre Oct to Feb , and I plan to see it this time around. #trytoremember taken in Sullivan St Bakery by @jimlaheyssb

I feel so fortunate that there’s a cafe that makes awesome food in my neighborhood, and so close to home! I’m amazed that for 34 years @sullivanstreetbakery has been serving NYC, from soho and Chelsea to Hell’s Kitchen! by @jimlaheyssb
