You were my best friend. 🔐

For 13 years you were a grown ass puppy lol. You ran like crazy, humped like a maniac, and couldn’t help but make ppl fall in love with you. Your intelligence and athleticism kept me on my toes, ALL the time lol. You met Jade, knew she was yours, and loved on her as much as you could.

You brought me peace 💯. And years of laughter 😂. No matter how hard life became, you were constantly happy and that always reminded me of what’s important ➡️:

🔑 Say “I love you”. And love hard. Life becomes fuller.

🔑 “That ain’t got shit to do with me“ is the verbal reminder, to control what you can control, and choose happiness throughout.

🔑 Give energy to the things that bring you joy.

🔑Appreciate life no matter the circumstance.

To anyone who loved you, took care of you or spent time with you, thank you. It meant the world to both Griffey and I.

Letting you go was one of the hardest things I’ve had to do in a while. But I know you’re in the right place. I know you’re up there, giving me a high five and saying “you gave me a good life, and I wouldn’t have chosen anyone else.” Taking you back to college station, where it all started and where I first met you was the best thing I could’ve done. For the both of us.

I love you G. You really were the greatest damn dog. Thank you for teaching me how to love, and be loved 🖤.

🤯 My favorite girl is officially a 1️⃣ year old! This first year of fatherhood has shown me all of the ways my parents provided for me and just how deep love can run 🖤.

💯 As fast as it’s flown by, it’s been wonderful enjoying the time, watching her grow, and embracing this new life. Her smile is contagious. Her laugh warms a room. She already knows how to box 🥊 (nah for real). And she loves Griffey. That’s my lil homie man lol.

💪🏾 Fatherhood: Year 1 wrap up. ✊🏾

💕 Jade, staring into your eyes makes my whole day better. I see myself as a child, how much I truly didn’t understand about love growing up and how important it is for me to navigate these waters alongside you. Showing up for you is easy. Loving you is even easier. Thank you for choosing me. Thank you for giving me the love I never knew I was missing.

I get it now. The lessons are sinking in even deeper. Thank you for being my guide, my rock, my source of wisdom. You really did give me what I needed, even when you didn’t realize you were doing so. I love you.
