하다(hada) basically means ‘Do‘ in Korean. But it’s used as ‘Do’ and ‘Be + Adjective’ (descriptive verbs instead of adjectives). 하다 verbs are made of a noun + a 하다 conjugation.

When it comes to [AFRO]+[HADA], it becomes [DO(BE) AFRO]! We will showcase various forms of Afro cultures by various reaction videos, concept photos, and journals….🌍✨

A thousand days of wandering, and a lot of growing up on both sides of the lens. I admit, it was an episode with its own share of ups and downs, and many lessons.

These slides barely show everything, but I'll leave them here as a reminder of how deeply grateful I am for every step 🤍🙏

My UAL journey has recently come to an end. It was time spent within an exciting and deeply inspiring creative community, and I am incredibly proud of our collective contribution to the course and the mark we leave behind in these halls.

This video captures moments from my final days in UAL, though it does little justice to the countless experiences and memories I carry with me. To the colleagues I began this journey with as strangers—who became friends, and in some cases collaborators—thank you. A special thank you to our course leader, Jeremy, and to all my tutors. Most notably, to Carol Nahra ( @Cahana6 ), for her exceptional guidance in bringing my major project to its conclusive end—an end that resulted not only in a documentary film, but also a mural artwork and an exhibition showcase I am truly proud of.

I’d also like to extend my gratitude to the following people: Viktor ( @viktartmwangi ), for accepting my request to collaborate and for leading the creation of an artwork that became the cornerstone of my major project. Erik ( @erikaglert ), for agreeing to assist with filming in Kenya—a place he had never been before—and for doing an incredible job while there. My family and friends behind the scenes, whose constant support, prayers, and well wishes I believe carry me further than I may ever fully understand. Hae Su ( @suhinne ), for always being here and fully supportive of my ambitious (and sometimes crazy) aspirations. Lastly, this is not an end. It is simply a transition—into another meaningful challenge that I believe will shape my journey for the better.

Portraits of a City (2025) Joshua Wera (Kenya, UK) 20 minutes

A few months after the #RejectFinanceBill protests shook Nairobi in 2024, director Joshua returns to the city to examine the lingering emotions left behind. Teaming up with mural artist Victor Mwangi, they create a public artwork designed to provoke reflection on the social and political tensions that sparked the movement. The film documents their creative process and the responses it draws from Nairobi’s residents—revealing raw, unspoken feelings not only through words, but also through silence and refusal.
