v1 prototyping of the BARRIER BUDDY is underway and feeling great! this idea is finally seeing the light of day after more than a year and now i get to dial it in and share the stoke. it came from a season of my life that had a very compact schedule and i couldn’t always find time to get to the skatepark but wanted to scratch the itch, even if only for 10 minutes at a time.

now that it’s in the wild, it’s time to dial in the radius, engineering and different ways i can share this with as many people as possible. with multiple segments, it’ll be a dream to be able to bolt together and setup an 8’ quarter in a matter of minutes, wherever your barrier of choice resides.

no matter how busy you are, find small ways to spark the fire and keep the adventure alive, it’s worth it.

“Riding alone has been a constant thread throughout my life - from my early days as an eager kid in West Auburn, PA, to where I am now in Nashville, TN. The simplicity of pedaling alone allows me to slow down and process the noise of everyday life. In the fall of 2023, Erik Doty and I documented what riding means to me today: brief moments of clarity at temporary spots, often hidden in plain sight. During this time, I rode a Work BMX frame made by John Corts that had a single @circuit_bmx_shop sticker on the top tube—an intentional reminder of friends in different places who inspire me to keep creating. You get what you give, so grab a shovel, mod a spot, load some film, and go create something with friends.

saturday september 12 / studio thoughts

a quiet morning spent in the studio connected a few thoughts that have been rattling around my brain for the last few weeks.

i’ve had some really big life shifts recently and a different schedule has made studio time a littler harder to access, so i wanted to take a moment to understand a few layers deeper and acknowledge what additional friction i may be unintentionally adding to the equation.

it’s okay, it’s part of the practice!

last week i heard someone say “it’s only an (unconscious) pattern until you identify it, then it becomes a choice” and i find this sentiment applicable in the ways i can inflate the shame around navigating new life each and every day. when i frame it through a kind lens, i find new (manageable for the season) ways to reconnect and care for my creative practice.

Aberdeen | Everything For A Season

Today is my last day at @aberdeenstudio. What started as a foot in the door and place to land after we dissolved @bodhivans, turned I to almost 3-1/2 years of building, learning and growing.

I’m grateful for the team I’ve worked with and projects we were able to add to the Nashville landscape. If you’ve been closer to me over the last number of years, you know I’ve poured the holy trinity of woodworking, blood, sweat and tears, into this endeavor and I am so glad I did.

Thank you to everyone that made this journey special.

friday july 3 2026

one year ago today, we were in Philadelphia
waiting for the surgeons to begin to transplant
his new heart. on july 3 this year we woke up at
5am and kayaked 14 miles down the Susquehanna.

both days still don’t feel real for different
reasons, but that’s for another time. today,
i get to reflect on getting another year to
have adventures and get to know each
other a little bit more before our time is up.

another night of ECT nostalgia

recently @card1concepts shared some photos of East Coast Terminal being built. i grew up riding that dirty bus terminal and it’s something i hold close. i remember the day our neighbor told me he heard they built a skatepark up in Johnson City and that i should check it out

the rest speaks for itself

from @deadhandbmx & @currysurr putting me on Last Call, @pdcbikeco & @workbmx helping me with frames and parts…@crandallfbm & @fbmbikecompany, my life unfolded in the best way i could imagine

beyond just the new path it gave me, i met so many awesome people and have a lifetime of stories. it was one hell of a wild west. it’s layout and uniqueness made one of the best scenes and was home to some goddamn talented humans, bmx + skate alike

one special piece is this Team Major Air video part that @mcorts made for Blow My Fuse. most of my clips were filmed there and i’m glad we got to make that. it was such a fun building, with the ceiling and pillars, that character shaped a lot of individual perspective and creativity

during some of these clips, @jeremypavia and i were also shooting photos and that was my first introduction into working with photographers, which became a lifelong passion of mine

a quick memory: Tag and i sessioned the gap to grind on the driveway one night and it blew my mind. we couldn’t have been more different people, but i remember him smiling and that’s pretty fucking awesome

of all the places i’ve able to ride,
backyard ramps will always be home

my dad and i built my first frontyard
ramp when i was 8 or so and it was
my absolute everything. all hours,
always. over time, riding allowed
me to ride a number of backyard
ramps, each as unique as the owner.

a glimpse into the deeper levels of
their imagination and ramp vision,
backyard ramps held the best energy.

happy to be back here again,
cheers to a new chapter of ramps

its been an awful long 3 months

the new studio window has become a favorite of the boys and every time they run up to it, it feels like i’m standing in the strangest dream, my worlds tying together, tighter and tighter

two months to the day of when i moved out of @feverdreamspace, hard to believe - but my new home studio is coming together and the pieces i’ve been working on have a fun blend of soft but dynamic sensations. it’s been fun to let go of the type of art i think i need to make and just follow who i am in the moment, just curious play and exploration.
