my lead tapping part on the new @theumbaraeffect single. yes, i still have a pick in my hand while playing this. idk why, but it just has to be there even if i’m not using it…

tuning // c standard

@preston_remains and i were in a discord call while i wrote this. he was working on the song’s intro, and i was just noodling some phrygian licks. can’t exactly remember how it went down, but within 20 minutes i sent him a guitar pro file of the first draft of this part. the rest is history…

Ratio // Cog Conformity is now out on all platforms!

Huge shoutout to @josh_remains for shredding on Cog Conformity. He was in a call with me when i was writing the rhythms and ultimately ended up hopping on the song. This song is where we really figured out our writing chemistry together and it will translate to Traces Remain moving forward. Hope you enjoy! More coming soon!

Rest In Peace Brandon 9/1/23

babe wake up, new pyrecar release for the first time in two years!

this release also debuts our new bassist @alex_johnson.5. seriously incredible work on his part, and i’m really excited to be making more music with him!

here it is: the solo you’ve been asking for! this one was quite difficult to track as you can imagine (so many f-bombs…). the sweeps are slow enough where you can’t get away with sloppy playing, but fast enough to require 100% focus. regardless, i think it came out well!

i’ve been practicing sweeps picking for 7 years now. if you’re looking to start your guitar sweeping journey, here are some quick practice tips:
- don’t
- it’s not worth it
- go outside touch grass

oh, also instrumentals are out for colorblind!

playing through the guitar solo on “one hot love” from makoto matsushita’s 1982 masterpiece “first light”. it’s a bit different from the more technical metal stuff i usually upload, i’m aware. however, after learning it, i just had to make a video because it’s THAT much fun to play!

this record is pitched up a bit from 440Hz (probably from the analog mastering process it went through), so i had to use a pitch shift plugin to increase my DI tuning by 63 cents. was a bit difficult figuring that out lol

oh, and instrumentals for colorblind will be out shortly!

our debut album has already been out for an entire month!! thank you to all who streamed and purchased it!!

this solo was kind of a last-minute shoehorn into the album. it was originally supposed to be a guest feature, but that fell through. i think i started writing this one the second i got the message they couldn’t do it lol. three hours later, this was written on my @guitarpro_official

this one almost did me in. i’ve been playing 13 years, and calluses were already building up on my fingertips within half an hour of practicing this. doesn’t help when you only pick 4 notes total lol. this is getting ridiculous, i need to actually practice alternate picking again…

this is the final boss of @erraband tapping parts

oh, and thanks for over 10k streams on the new @tracesremain album!!
