Humphrey 🐽 adopted from @savethehorsesrescue ❤️

Repost from @joylimnakrin

Humphrey 🐷 wanted his own post too 🐽 Adopted from vegan-run 🌱 @savethehorsesrescue in Cumming, GA, Humphrey 🐖 is a highly intelligent, sociable guy who knows tricks, loves to play and loves life! 💫 Researchers have discovered that pigs are one of the smartest animals on the planet 🌎, surpassing dogs, 🐶 horses, 🐴 and cats 🐱 in intelligence 🧠 with a mental capacity comparable to a human toddler 👶🏻 Yet, 121 millions pigs are slaughtered in the US each year 😔despite extensive research showing negative health impacts associated with eating pigs. According to @humanesociety most of these animals are raised on factory farms in cruel conditions💔You can show compassion for pigs like Humphrey by choosing more plant 🌱 based foods 🍱 @joyousacres #petpigs #animallovers #piglovers #animalrescue #pigrescue #rescueanimals #rescuepigs #pigsnotpork #eatplantssaveanimals #plantbasedfortheanimals #plantbasedforhealth #plantbasedfortheplanet #veganvibes by @joyousacres

Lovely feature on Joyous Acres’ founder Teresita “Teya” Lim King 🧡 by the Equestrians of Color Project 🐴 Repost from @eocproject
•
“I first fell in love with horses when I was a young doctor practicing rural medicine on horseback in the villages of the Philippines Islands where I was born and raised. The way they trustily carried me to remote destinations always stuck with me - leaving me in awe of their majesty, grace, and generosity. Now as a 72 year old, I have dedicated my life savings and the remainder of my life to caring for unwanted horses and other animals on my family’s rescue farm Joyous Acres. Until I purchased the farm three years ago, I had not owned a horse for more than 20 years - pursuing my career as a gynecologist and raising a family. When I finally retired, I got to fulfill my lifelong dream of having a rescue farm.”
