Jumping 🐎 into Summer ☀️ w/ my rescue Enduring Honor🐴 & fellow racetrack “reject” News Item (AKA Jimmie)🏅 Both boys bringing home blues🏅this past weekend at @showwiththeco & maintaining leads on the @georgiahunterjumperassociation local show circuit, proving what those throwaways can do 💪🏼 So grateful to @secondcallthoroughbreds 🐎 where I adopted Honor for less than a saddle & to @tbaftercare for keeping countless race industry “rejects” out of the sl@ughter pipeline 🙏🏼 Endless thanks to my coach Julie Mohr of @britmohr_farm for always believing a rescue horse 🐎 could hang with six-figure pedigree imports 💫 Thank you to my loved ones who help care for all our rescues (most of whom you won’t see in the show ring) at @joyousacres ❤️

🐷🐎❤️ Humphrey was found on the side of the road when he was seven months old and was brought to @savethehorsesrescue. The owner @joylimnakrin is vegan and couldn’t resist helping an animal in need:
Humphrey’s not a potbelly pig, like most pet pigs; he’s a heritage meat breed. We think he somehow escaped slaughter.

I played with him every day, and after a week I had taught him to sit. I didn’t know anything about pigs, but I thought he was absolutely adorable, and I just had to take him home. We have a senior therapy program where seniors visit our farm, @joyousacres, and interact with the animals (we have horses too). Humphrey brings a lot of smiles and laughs. Even though some of the seniors are in memory care, they’ll remember Humphrey.

Joy and her precious OTTBs, Honor & Cody 🖤

Joy is such an incredible and sweet lady - I truly enjoyed my time getting to photograph her, her parents, and all of their sweet animals at their beautiful rescue farm @joyousacres! It was such a treat to be around someone that is so passionate about rescuing animals and loves OTTBs the way that I do 🥹

I’m‎ sure‎ I’ve‎ said‎ it‎ once‎ already‎ but‎ I’ll‎ say‎ it‎ again…
⁣
⁣One‎ of‎ the‎ things‎ I‎ love‎ most‎ about‎ doing‎ photography‎ for‎ a‎ living‎ is‎ how‎ it‎ brings‎ amazing‎ people‎ into‎ my‎ life.‎ Every‎ shoot‎ is‎ a‎ chance‎ to‎ meet‎ someone‎ new,‎ hear‎ their‎ story,‎ and‎ capture‎ a‎ moment‎ that’s‎ uniquely‎ theirs.‎
⁣
⁣
⁣I‎ loved‎ meeting‎ Joy,‎ her‎ family,‎ and‎ seeing‎ the‎ loving‎ home‎ they‎ have‎ created‎ for‎ rescue‎ animals (@joyousacres ).‎ They‎ give‎ them‎ the‎ second‎ chance‎ they‎ deserve‎ 💜

An Easter Blessing to see my mother & her beloved rescue horse Onaqui gracing the cover of the Milton Herald🦄 It was her lifelong dream to have a safe haven for rescued animals… a dream realized by my family at @joyousacres🐴🐶🐱🐷 ❤️ In turn, my elders have been sharing this blessing with other seniors in our community through our Seniors for Seniors therapy program. That’s a wrap! Unbelievable turnout and participation this year by these amazing dads, families and barns. It was our highest fundraiser since we started rgb, and the money you raised is going towards a tremendous cause. The presentations we were all privileged to witness truly raised the bar, and we’re so excited to see how you top it in 2023. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to everyone who donated and participated; it was both humbling and inspiring to see our incredible community show up the way you did. We love you all.
