POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

We took Lena backpacking for the first time ever this weekend at Blue Bend Recreation Area and she loved it! She hikes basically every week and has been camping on several occasions, but this was the first time that she spent the night in our two-person backpacking tent. It took some getting used to the close quarters of such a small tent, but I can safely say we will be taking her to backpack again very soon! Even with it raining on our second day, as we made our way back to the truck, we all had a great time!

And yes, she does have her own backpack to carry her own supplies. It’s the cutest thing ever. taken in Blue Bend Recreation Area by @jrschorlunch

GenCon Recap!! I recognize that this is a long video, but a lot happened at GenCon!

I attended GenCon for the first time this year and it was a jam packed blast! I had the honor, privilege, and joy of running games alongside the incredibly talented, creative, and kind @mr.dandydm. Being able to co-GM with Andy was a highlight in my GMing career and I will share a GM screen with him any time, any where.

Many thanks to @freeleaguepublishing, @brotherwisegames, @dragonsteelbooks, and @montecookgames for providing me with some incredible TTRPG books and resources! I’ve got big plans!!

Thank you to @dodecadonuts and @koboldpress for the new games!

I cannot wait for @restorationgames to release The King’s Gambit! I’ve already signed up for news on the kickstarter. So excited to get a copy!! taken in Greenbrier County by @jrschorlunch

@gen_con Just when we thought the adventure was over…ONE LAST RANDOM ENCOUNTER!
@jrschorlunch and I were literally about to leave Gen Con when we ran into one of my absolute favorite actors, voice actors, and Actual Play creators, @luis.carazo!
Running into Luis again was the cherry on top of an already magnificent hot fudge sundae of AWESOME. Seriously, what an incredible way to end an unforgettable Gen Con!
Can't wait to see what you do next in the space @luis.carazo !
May you roll nothing but Nat 20s!

@gen_con : APPRECIATION POST!
I am so incredibly grateful for @jrschorlunch and @helpactionneeded.

You are both ridiculously talented, endlessly creative, and ...more importantly ... two of the most genuinely wonderful people I know.

Distance means we don’t get nearly enough time all together, but somehow, we always find ways to show up for one another (speaking of @helpactionneeded want to go see SPIDERMAN this week? 😁). And whenever we’re finally in the same place again, it feels like no time has passed at all.

I’m so lucky to know each of you, to create alongside both of you, and most of all, to call you my friends.

Love you both. ❤️

@gen_con APPRECIATION POST:
I genuinely could not have asked for a better creative partner and co-DM for THE FALL OF ASHCALEEN than @jrschorlunch with @greenroofstudio (follow them!)

You are such a talented Dungon Master, an incredible in-the-moment improviser, and...more importantly...just a genuinely good person.

Odromia is a world I’ve been building, writing, and carrying around in my head and heart for the last seven years. Thank you for being so receptive every time I dropped an absolutely unreasonable amount of lore on you, for treating this world with so much care, and for bringing your own incredible creativity to it.

You made the story better. You made running it more fun. And I’m so grateful that I got to share the table with you.

You’re the best, Jacob. Thank you for helping bring THE FALL OF ASHCALEEN to life for all of our players at the table this Gencon.

LET'S DO IT AGAIN SOON!

ON TOP OF ALL OF THAT...
@jrschorlunch is such a great friend as well! Always great to have deep conversations or share in silliness. Also a friend that really hypes you up. In fact this whole week we were each other's hype men which was AMAZING!
JACOB is a real MENSCH in every sense of the word!

@gen_con : FRIDAY

By Friday, the adventure was in full swing!

Another incredible day of rolling dice, telling stories, and introducing new players to the world of Odromia alongside the amazing @jrschorlunch.

Every group brought something completely different to the table wild choices, huge laughs, unforgettable characters, and the kind of beautiful chaos that makes running @dndwizards so much fun.

Then after that it was time to hit the Con floor. So thankful for all of the new people that I got to meet and for being able to catch up with @tanktolman and see and hear about all of the amazing work that he has been doing! Keep on being an inspiration brother! HAMMER!

@gen_con : THURSDAY!
Thursday was when the REAL adventure began!
I finally got to run games alongside the amazing @jrschorlunch and I’m so incredibly happy that we had the chance to co-DM together and bring the world of Odromia to even more people. We worked on this game together a lot over the last few months and we really pulled it off!
There is something genuinely magical about watching new players step into a world I've spent 7 years (at this point) creating, make it their own, and immediately begin causing beautiful chaos.
Thank you to every adventurer who joined us at the table. You are officially part of the Odromiaverse now!

@gen_con : Wednesday
I didn’t take nearly enough photos this year and honestly, I’m okay with that.
I made a conscious choice to put my phone down, be present, and really listen to the people around me. I wanted to enjoy the conversations, the games, the laughter, and all those little moments that make Gen Con so special.

I didn’t take nearly enough pictures at @gen_con, which is usual when I attend cons. This was my first GenCon ever, and it did not disappoint! The friends, the games, the conversations, the laugh, the ideas that percolated, the fellow nerds, all of it made my time at phenomenal! This was one of my favorite—if not my favorite—convention I’ve ever been to! I’m already looking forward to next year.

A special shout out and thank you to @mr.dandydm who co-GMed with me and was one of the greatest partners to share the table with! We ran four games together in a world he has been building for seven years. Running games alongside Andy made the entire experience all the more memorable and special! taken in Gen Con by @jrschorlunch

Hi, I’m Lena! My parents dubbed me the (un)Official Mascot of the @wvstateparks and state forests because I’ve spent A LOT of time in them. My parents love taking pictures of me and I love going to the different state parks and forests, so I guess everyone wins. But mostly me.

This weekend, we explored Canaan Valley Resort State Park with @ascendwv. If you haven’t been there, you should totally go; and if you have, you should go again.

It rained a lot, but that just meant there was more creeks and streams to play in. I got to stay in the hotel that’s in the state park, cause I’m really important. There were two pools there, one inside and one outside, but I couldn’t go in them…that’s fine. I’d rather swim in mud puddles. They had a lot of really good sticks just laying around and a ton of wild life, like deer, squirrels, and a gopher—whose name was Pete—but they all kept running off. I don’t think they got the memo of what a big deal I am.

We are going to more state parks and state forests all the time, so be sure to tune in as I go on more Wonderful and Wild adventures.
