ATHLETE ANNOUNCEMENT // NEAL KLIMEK 🔥

The next athlete stepping into the SQ Super Series 8-Man -80KG Grand Prix is Neal Klimek.

Originally scheduled to compete in a Superfight, Neal is now one of the athletes stepping up to take his place in the £500 Grand Prix bracket.

Training under Arya at Pure Jiu Jitsu, Neal brings an incredibly strong all-round game, with excellent Judo, takedowns and scrambling ability. He’s constantly looking to take control of the match, secure top position and hunt for the finish.

Neal has already tested himself against experienced competitors and black belt-level opposition on the open circuit, as well as earning an appearance on Polaris.

Now he gets the opportunity to make his mark in a stacked 8-man field.

Can Neal fight his way through the bracket, claim the -80KG Championship Belt and take home the £500 cash prize?

SUPERFIGHT ANNOUNCEMENT 🔥

Another matchup added to the SQ Super Series card — and we don’t expect much guard pulling in this one.

⚔️ Neal Klimek vs Chris Edwards ⚔️

Both athletes are incredibly well-rounded, but each prefers to take control of the match from the feet.

Neal Klimek, training under @aryabjj at Pure Jiu Jitsu, is known for his excellent Judo, powerful takedowns and constant pressure. He’s always looking to secure top position, hunt the finish and stay on the attack from the first exchange to the last.

Opposite him is Chris Edwards, who may have a dangerous guard, but rarely needs to use it. Chris favours his wrestling and takedowns, using them to dictate where the match goes before piling on the pressure and chasing the submission. He’s been putting together strong performances across multiple shows and will be looking to continue that run here.

Judo vs wrestling. Pressure vs pressure. Two athletes who want top position from the start.

Who wins the battle on the feet and takes control of the match?

Find out live at SQ Super Series on 29.08.26.

A few takedowns✌️
This week has been rather tough. At the start of the week, I lost a close friend, someone I looked up to as a big brother.
Going into this competition i found myself reading through his old messages. One thing he always reminded me was to “control the man in the mirror and his mind.” Those words stayed with me all day.
I’m incredibly grateful to have had him as both a friend and a coach. The lessons he taught me in and out the gym will stay with me for the rest of my life and continue to push me to become better.
He was an absolute beast, and he’ll never be forgotten. ❤️
