Wings to Action
By @junestoddardart

This piece is part of an artist’s collaboration called Shoebox PR -Collaboration at a Distance - Call and Response. I was paired with artist @ashirasart. This is the 8th image in our creative conversation.

Artists are paired randomly in twos. Artist #1 creates a piece of art within the space of 24 hours and the sends the work to their partner, then Artist #2 has 24 hours to create a piece responding to Artist #1’s piece and then #2 sends to #1. Then #1 has 24 hours to create a response to #2’s piece. It goes back and forth for about two weeks. Hundreds of creatives have taken part in this inspiring process since March, 2020.

Today and Tomorrow see my collaboration with @kim_reasor called "tasty things for troubling times" @startupartfair LA, two hotel floors of art! I'm in the Call & Response Room 202 at @thekinneyvenicebeach
Thanks to the outstanding art community of @callandresponseart started by @kristineschomaker there are three dynamic rooms of art! The 60+ collaborations of @callandresponseart , the outstanding @perceivemeart touring show, and a private room of artists drawing anyone who volunteers to pose nude and then can buy their portraits. taken in The Kinney by @junestoddardart

tsundoku dreaming

Materials:
Pen, colored pencil, watercolor, glue, watercolor paper.

#1 in call and response collaboration with @kim_reasor
We like surprises, spontaneity.
I may add little books in the book pile pocket🤔
I went with my instinctual vision. I drew the yearning to be read pile of books in my bedroom and glued it on a watercolor that evokes a dream.

*Tsundoku is a Japanese term for the habit of buying books but not reading them, causing them to pile up.
