Ok all…

I’m starting a new IN PERSON Artist’s Way group (navigating through Julia Cameron’s book) on September 13th! 4:30pm. I’m hoping with the autumn months, the weather will cool and my new (ish) but 100 year old home in Silver Lake will be vibrating with autumn vibes. (The ghosts are welcome too).

IF YOU have participated in this workshop, PLEASE share with your friends. I gift back $100 for the first artist referral (and $50 for everyone after that). The referral “thank you” helps to create a more collaborative environment of artist friends who already know that they have a “built in” support system of folx who have navigated the book before .(nooooo, it’s not a cult). Kind of. Not.

We will meet every Sunday for 12 weeks (skipping a couple and pushing or combining) around the holidays. (End date will most likely be Dec 6th). $350 for 12 weeks!

Email me at seifert.jen@gmail.com for more info!!!

Artist books occupy a unique space in contemporary art—too tactile for digital, too conceptual for traditional publishing, too personal for mass production.

Next week at Startup Art Fair, 90+ collaborative books push this medium further by requiring two artists who've never met to create a unified visual language together.

The results span:

Oracle decks

Teabag weavings

Accordion folds

Rebus images

Painted photographs

Sculptural volumes

Each book is an original artwork—the artifact of a four-month creative conversation across continents.

Last weekend I hosted a cozy pop-up dinner at my godparents’ house. The last time I hosted a dinner at their home was eight years ago, before so much of my culinary career had taken place. I felt my growth in this dinner, in the menu, in the friends who were present, in having my sweet Neil there as my sous chef. It is so special to have people who want to eat my food, cook with me, and open their home in honor of a delicious meal. I love to cook! And I love my LA community ❤️

It’s time for my annual pop-up dinner on Saturday October 25th! This time it’s a feast of fall flavors. Think kabocha squash, lamb shoulder ragù with hand rolled cavatelli, brown butter and quince, radicchio…. Menu coming soon!

DM to reserve your spot. $100 includes a four course dinner and a cocktail (n/a and vegetarian options available). I can’t wait to feed you 🎃 The cut off date to reserve your spot is 10/18.

Last weekend I made a celebratory lunch for Ed’s 84th birthday❤️ I was told he loved shellfish, creamy desserts, pasta, and didn’t like a lot of vegetables. So I went into menu planning mode and came up with a menu that made everyone happy. Thanks to @chantael.takeuchi for being my sous chef and to my mom @junestoddardart for the beautiful menu illustrations.
