Another year around the sun 🎉

What a wonderful adventure and life. I genuinely can’t complain about much beyond the most trivial things.

I’m injured (yes, again, when am I not 😭), and while it’s definitely limiting, it hasn’t actually stopped me from enjoying my time here. It’s not home, and I’m missing home terribly, but I’ve had the opportunity to experience so much that I probably wouldn’t have otherwise.

Luxembourg, Hungary, the UK, Slovenia, Italy, and Korea. 🌍. And a bunch of festivals inbetween.

I’m definitely missing a birthday celebration in Vegas, but I really can’t argue that this hasn’t been a pretty great year.

Parookaville 2025 - Weeze, DE

1️⃣ 3 Day/€259 “Discount Tomorrowland” — but in the best way.

2️⃣ No Lines The festival was well organized. No bottlenecks or long lines. It felt like it was built for twice the crowd, even though it was sold out.

3️⃣ Theme Parookaville has a steampunk carnival city vibe. A lot of the stages had an industrial look, which fit NRW perfectly.

4️⃣ Food The food catered to the local crowd, but I enjoyed trying mushroom and potato dishes. Candied nuts, popcorn, and plenty of vegetarian and vegan options.

5️⃣ Rides I wouldn’t normally trust fair rides, but I leaned into the “German engineering” myth and went with it.

6️⃣ Rain Story It wouldn’t be Europe without rain. I hid in a beer bar, but 20 minutes later it felt like Forrest Gump rain — sideways and from below. I ran, climbed on a picnic table and shouted, “Hallo Parookaville, ich bin Justin. Ich komme aus California. Das Wetter hier ist schlecht.” Got a few smiles and "genaus."

7️⃣ Main Stage The main stage had tons of space and too many bars. No lines even with huge crowds. More space made everyone friendlier.

8️⃣ Night Crowds It got crowded at night, but entrances, exits, and guest behavior made it easy. The back route to the hill area also had vendors and more beer stalls.

9️⃣ Drone Show There was a drone show celebrating 10 years of Parookaville with top songs from each year. I should’ve watched from the back. Is Bill Parooka the same voice as the “People of Tomorrowland” guy?

🔟 Final Thoughts I’m three years older than Jesus was when he died. Plant power, baby.

Neuss ist noice 🇩🇪 . The Basilica of St. Quirinus stands as a symbol of Neuss’s medieval heritage, built around 1209 and completed in the early 13th century.
