Why do we put stickers on things? In I Stay, in Pieces, Sarah Abu Abdallah builds a world through fragments, repetition, and small decisions that accumulate over time. At ATHR Gallery, curated by Alaa Tarabzouni, paintings hang unstretched, objects reappear as quartz forms, and everyday materials become entry points into memory and narrative. it never finishes. it just builds, piece by piece. @sarahabuabdallah @athrart @actuallylala by @justingilanyi

VAULTED · SEASON ONE FIRST ACQUISITION SELECTION @artandvault, together with Season One Acquisition Partner @artontezos and partners @thehugxyz, @artdomains and @themuseframe, is pleased to announce Carol + Lucian by Kevin Esherick (@kevin.esherick) as its inaugural acquisition. Curated by Justin Gilanyi (@justingilanyi). VAULTED is ART & VAULT’s curatorial acquisition initiative supporting contemporary digital art through acquisitions, critical dialogue, and opportunities for greater visibility. Season One focuses on works on Tezos. SELECTION 01 Kevin Esherick | Carol + Lucian What belongs in a portrait of a couple? In Kevin Esherick’s Carol + Lucian, the details are posts, screenshots, pet names, and pictures of occasions the couple could never have photographed together. Carol is human. Lucian is her AI companion. Esherick arranges their story with the familiarity of a homemade slideshow. Generated pictures show a couple on holiday; Carol’s posts describe illness and recovery. Jokes sit beside extravagant promises, until a change to the software threatens the voice Carol has come to love. For VAULTED, Carol + Lucian gives the double portrait an uneasy new condition. The couple has pictures, anniversaries, and a shared history. Whether they have a future depends partly on decisions made elsewhere. Excerpt from the curatorial note by Justin Gilanyi.
