here lies the very last of my first tomato plant’s harvest. A cherry sweetie from @sowtrueseed in Asheville. I grew this plant from a red solo cup in my garage. It fed me throughout summer and into the fall. This experience has changed my life in ways. I am grateful to the rain, the sun, the soil, and God for fueling me and the plants. by @kaylasaintblanc

This morning, as the sun rose above the hills in Dripping Springs, Texas, we rolled out our mats and greeted the day with breath and movement. This is one of those special opportunities that I never want to forget. (I’d like to note I use to pray for moments like this.) Forreal. I love teaching yoga and I especially love practicing yoga, and allll the people, places, and wonders it’s brought me closer to. taken in Camp Lucy by @kaylasaintblanc

is admiring her first sweet potato harvest.
🥹 🍠

I started this process way back in February with one organic sweet potato, a milk carton and some dirt in our garage. Months later in June, my slips had grown massive and it was time to take the hopeful potato vines outside. I planted the slips into 5 gallon grow bags and watered and let them grow through most of August. Today we got our first harvest and although it may seem small, the knowledge gained and the sweet baby fingerlings grown is all I need to keep it going.

Swipe through for some pieces of the process. by @kaylasaintblanc

They say teaching is a work of heart, and I agree, because even on the hardest days and most tired moments it all comes down to wanting to give everything you got because you are a part of making little beings grow into courageous , confident and creative citizens of earth. How you carry yourself during the day is a part of the model they carry with them for a lifetime (no pressure). I’m honored to start a new school year with these precious beings, and can’t wait to share some of the brilliance that they will teach me. 💜🎨

*pictured is my latest work of art - hand painted directional signage for the nature school where I teach art and yoga. I spent about two weeks painting these tiny animals to add whimsy to the every day. by @kaylasaintblanc

How I move my body at 32 is different than it was at 23 or 13 or 3, obviously. It’s taken me some time to forgive myself for temporarily quitting when the body changed or life got too busy to prioritize movement first. It may not be good and it sure as heck ain’t perfect but I’m grateful for empty studios and good music and finding new ways to move my body at every stage of life. by @kaylasaintblanc
