Happy Sunday Love Sponge!!! ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Today’s art work comes from an intentional effort to shift out of a gloomy state, to one filled with more abundance and gratitude. ⁣And, I’m happy to report that the mission was accomplished!⁣
*insert exaggerated sigh* ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
You know, one of the things I love most about creative journaling, is that it’s a tool that’s almost always accessible to help me regulate my thoughts, feelings and emotions. I’ve been journaling since I was about ten years old and this amped up practice of adding colours, textures and pizzazz to documenting my thoughts, has brought the experience to a wwhhooollllleeeeee new level!!! ⁣
⁣
Believe me when I tell you that creative journaling is a key to unlocking new perspectives and it is also therapy you didn’t even know you needed. It has been an awesome guide for me- perhaps it could be yours too. 😉🪄 by @khymberleen

Please raise your bax juice wid me…⁣
To celebrate the absence of a neat little box that fits all the things we’re interested in. ⁣
⁣
Let’s drink, to…⁣
Less hiding.⁣
More making.⁣
More stewardship.⁣
And… less waiting to feel ready. 💕⁣ by @khymberleen

Summer isn’t over yet, but I feel as if it had already provided so many opportunities to practice gratitude!
New ideas.
Familiar faces.
Unexpected conversations.
Small experiments.
Gentle reminders that the best moments are rarely the loudest.
Here’s to loootttsssssss more of those… ✨ by @khymberleen

Roll with the punches & stay grateful 💕✨💖 by @khymberleen

Errrrmmmaaawwwgggaaawwwddd… ⁣⁣⁣
If there was ever a definition of a full-circle moment… THIS-WOULD-BE-IT!!!! ⁣⁣⁣
@cradleoflifelactation and @cradled_ recently hosted a mommy one day retreat day and it was one for the books. ⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
Walking into the room I felt every ounce of intentionality, understanding and most of all, I felt like I belonged in that room. Why is it a full circle moment you ask? That would be because Simeca is a Charmer 😌 Stick a pin right dehsuh.⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
When we found each other six years ago, I knew in my heart of hearts that the vision she carried would impact families profoundly. Little did I know that mmmmyyyyyy family would have been one such recipient of her fantastic services. Little did I know that mmmmeeee did wuz going to literally be cradled by this seed I nurtured behind the scenes. And yet… here I am in this season of my life where I’m a (newish) mom again. Nuh one nice round circle dat??? ⁣⁣⁣

A super duper congratulations one of my favourite brands ever, on a well executed event that made me feel safe and seen at one of the most vulnerable periods woman will ever experience in her lifetime. by @khymberleen

For quite some time, Curated Charm took on the identity of creative journaling. But underneath that, was always something else. Something intangible which were about relationships, presence and conversations that just feel natural and unforced.

Through many errors, challenges and disruptions, I have consistently been lead to nurture something small and radically intentional.
Not loud. Not performative. Just honest.

Stay close. by @khymberleen

This is a landmark that brought me unfiltered shame for many years. Seeing my daughter standing in that same spot recently made me feel something different (It’s a little long but stay with me here… yuh attention span need di likkle workout☺️). ⁣
⁣
My grandmother was an insanely gifted seamstress.⁣ 🪡
Her hands could make almost anything.⁣
When her eyesight began failing and she was no longer able to fulfill her orders as a seamstress, she resorted to selling newspaper right here at this bus stop a few minutes away from May Pen, Clarendon. For years, this was a part of my story I didn’t enjoy talking about and I tried to erase. Shame woulda chokehold mi blouse cup!!!
⁣
At the time I just didn’t (couldn’t) understand how often talent goes unseen, unsupported or simply interrupted by life. My embarrassment prevented me from seeing the woman who kept showing up, despite the agony she must have felt when her gifts were no longer able to make room for her in the way she was accustomed. It’s a pity that pivoting wasn’t trending at the time. ⁣SMH.
⁣
Since my recent interaction over the holidays with said bus stop, I’ve been thinking about persons who (just like she was) may be carrying brilliance quietly. I question how many creatives, spark carriers and builders have learned to survive instead of shine. Also, about how many talents have been buried out of a response to unfavourable circumstances. How again… like her they were also never able to be reconciled before that person left this Earth.⁣
⁣
Some stories take time to understand.⁣
This one… is teaching me how to see differently. I’m hoping I can pass this message on to at least one person who REALLY needs to hear/read/see this… and that is, we have a responsibility to honour ordinary spaces + actions and turn them into experiences that carry meaning. That is how we build legacy. Purpose should never disappear when circumstances change. And dignity lives in consistency, not applause.⁣

There are some people whose presence steadies the room. Whose quiet strength moves mountains. Whose heart is so deeply woven into the fabric of your life, you almost can’t tell where they end and where you begin. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Thankfully… I’ve been blessed to be a partner and a friend to one such individual. ⁣⁣I take this time to honour your best qualities and your imperfections. The world really is a better place with you in it. 🩷 by @khymberleen

This truly feels like magic on paper! ⁣
⁣
My journey with creative journaling started as a personal escape, a super practical way to navigate the highs and lows of life. I like to call it the “big people version” of all my diaries I used to keep as a pre-teen, teen and young adult. ⁣
⁣
Now, it’s become a sanctuary—a place where self-expression and emotional wellness meet.⁣
⁣
I get it, life can be overwhelming (especially as someone who is highly sensitive)and so finding ways to deal with stress and anxiety is always top priority for me. ⁣
⁣
I’m excited about this magical way of turning chaos into calm! Can’t wait to unlock all that’s in store. ⁣ by @khymberleen

Happy Thursday Love Sponge!!! 🌸💕🖌️
⁣
Here’s a snapshot from a quick session I had earlier. Creative journaling is one of the easily accessible tools I use to untangle my mind when I’m facing a creative block. And boy did I need it earlier. 😪 ⁣
⁣
Anyone else finds clarity and solace in releasing their thoughts on paper through sketching, writing or patch work? There’s just something about the tactile experience of holding paper, glue and writing instruments that makes me so relaxed and in the flow, in little to no time. Feel free to snap a quick shot and share with me. I’d love to see your creations! 😁 by @khymberleen

🎨✨ ⁣Since I’ve started giving art my full attention again, I’ve being been reminded of all the reasons we chose each other. And boy, it’s a reconnection I am grateful for! ⁣
⁣
One of the things I’ve been enjoying the most is that in the midst the whirlwind of life, letting my thoughts flow freely on paper always somehow feels like sacred work. ⁣So beautiful that I feel compelled to share with this growing community.
⁣
I hope you’ll stay tuned for something special brewing on the horizon! I can assure you, a journey of discovery awaits! by @khymberleen

Can you believe I almost didn’t give myself the space to practice my art? 🎨 ⁣The reason? I was too busy playing my cards ‘right’ and following the rules. ⁣
⁣⁣
In retrospect, it translates to asking a flower not to bloom and that feels like a downright criminal offense. But here’s the thing – investing in yourself is never a waste. How could it be? ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Nurturing your passions means you’re directly investing in your growth, your joy and your journey towards becoming the best version of yourself. ✨ The price one has to pay in doing the opposite of that is far too high if you ask me. ⁣⁣
And so, at this stage of my journey, I am fully committed to excavating every ounce of MAGIC within me and I think everyone should do the very same because ERRMAWGAWD… I loooooovvveeeee it here. ⁣
⁣
Tell me… what’s one unnurtured passion of yours that you’re willing to let grow and glow? I’m all ears (eyes). by @khymberleen
