You can still watch STAGE's beautifully edited videos and interviews of Cedar sets from Swampling, Alicia Thao and Vie Boheme on the TPT dot org STAGE website! It's really fun to get a peek at what it was like to be in the audience. @mr_seemore moves impossibly fast in that swamp moth splendor and I look way more confident than I felt playing ghost guitar from beyond the veil 👻😱🧟 #swampling #cedarcommissions #swamplings #swampthing #ecohorror #swamplump #mothman by @kparentart

Special music in the works from my sister Anna and I. It's been over 15 years since we performed regularly together, but it still feels so familiar and poignant to sing along with her voice, even long-distance through microphones and file sharing. This is one of our old favorite duets, Cape Breton Lullaby, with video from where we grew up in Puget Sound on the other side of the continent. #folkmusic #lullaby #capebreton #pugetsound #sisters #bloodharmony by @kparentart

Hands, earth, water, light, and a burst of gold. ✨🙌

@kparentart | Kat Parent's three paintings hold the sacred in the smallest places: hands pressed in prayer around a thread of gold, cupped hands cradling a seedling as water runs through them, and open hands framing a sky full of stars.

Kat painted them while reading the medieval mystics Hildegard of Bingen and Julian of Norwich, the visionary fiction of Octavia Butler and Ursula Le Guin, and the protest songs of Malvina Reynolds. She wanted to capture moments that feel "both enormous and very small, like a bit of running water or a leaf held between two hands." A self-taught queer artist and teaching artist, Kat draws on illustration, protest printmaking, church art and folk art to share "wonder and delight" in a world that abounds "with absurd beauty and strangeness." 🌱

@jsonkehrer | Jason Kehrer's abstract painting glows with ochre, gold and sunlit yellow. Painted outdoors, his work grew out of years of plein air painting from direct observation and has turned intuitive and improvised, yet it still carries a strong sense of place. Trained as a printmaker, Jason has painted for nearly 20 years and has exhibited in Minnesota, New Mexico, Chicago and England.

And the setting couldn't be better: @zierratattoo | Zierra Tattoo, the newest shop on Payne Ave! 🎉 Born in Medellín, Colombia, Gersson specializes in Neotraditional, Black and Grey Realism and Geometric designs, and has been recognized at tattoo conventions across the country. His signature is yellow, a symbol of his Latin roots and a nod to gold. Jason's golden canvas feels right at home.

Welcome to the neighborhood, Zierra! Stop by, see the art, and say hello. 💛

In my first juried show, at @solidaritystreetgallery 2026 in St Paul. These three sacred hand paintings on wood, inspired by queer, feminist and womanist theologies, will be up for sale. I'm considering doing a limited run of prints of them this winter, too. Excited to go see all the cool local art! #localart #painting #sacredart #queerart by @kparentart

More screenprinting this summer, with new designs I drew based on conversations with youth at OSLC and walking in their community garden. The lettering is from amazing fonts based on 1970s queer periodicals, created by @bugprints . These were printed live at Our Saviour's community block party -- dm me if you'd like me to come print near you 🦝🌸🐝🌿🦋🥖🧅 #screenprint #communitygarden #minnesotaart #hotdish #screenprinting by @kparentart

Text from the song “Di Arbuzn” aka “S’iz der Step”, a song in Yiddish from the days of collective farming in the midcentury Soviet Union. At the time of folks being moved from population centers to new farm colonies in the far countryside, for better or for worse these Jewish farmers sang about their loves and their fruits 🍒🍓🍑

Do you have a juicy summer love? Share this vid with them so you can remember these nice folk-verified pickup lines 💋

We learn this from a classic version by the Pennywhistlers and our teacher Ethel Raim, via @yaleslavicchorus and @klezkanada

We’ll sing this and other bangers at Red Thread’s next concerts, Aug 28 and 30 in Mpls at Mixed Blood theater w Ardaa band and Cultural Fluency Initiative. taken in Minneapolis, Minnesota by @kparentart

A while back @coinswallow made a cool post encouraging artists to make our own oracle cards. I couldn't stop thinking about it, so I started drawing things that have special meaning to me that can help jog my processing or intuition. I have made about 4 dozen so far. It's very whimsical and comforting, highly recommend. by @kparentart

Green and white flyer with pictures of See More and Kat being cuties and playing music 16’ up in the trees from last year’s set and a pic from our rehearsal a few weeks back, with another pic of the two smiling under the sun in a hammock after their set last year. Another really fun thing I've been up to: art collabs with kids via Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Minneapolis. At day camp in June, kids designed and stuffed their own art plushies. Youth designed an anti-ice print and a canvas welcome sign for their community gathering space. We're currently working on screenprint designs for a neighborhood block party on August 26 🌸 #kidsart #communityart #artteaching by @kparentart

Catching up on posting what I've been up to: about a year ago I joined Mila Vocal Ensemble! They had just gotten back from a study trip to Bulgaria and I had so much fun this year learning beautiful Balkan music and lore from the group's huge repetoire. Big thanks to @rada.kmusic for inviting me to audition and to @milavocal for being delightful to make music with ❤️ Our next big show will be in November--stay tuned for details! by @kparentart
