in growth mode 📖

this season involves a lot of reading, learning, and unlearning. it literally stretched me to get out of my comfort zone, deal with new situations, and speak up more.

it's truly an exciting place to be in and i'm grateful for all the mentors and friends who are here to support me 🌻 taken in Dubai, United Arab Emiratesدبي by @krixna

Hearing young people rethink the future of reading made me feel hopeful for the next generation of creatives.

As someone who grew up equally obsessed with design, books and video games, I loved helping shape the DIDI Project Design Space Challenge in collaboration with @elfdubai. It was a chance to bring those worlds together.

One of my favourite parts was putting the challenge together with @zekkun23. Seeing the students’ excitement during the finals and mentorship session made all those behind-the-scenes conversations worth it.

A huge thank you to @dannaherra and the entire @dididxb team. It was such a pleasure building this together. The programme invited students to rethink the future of reading through design, creativity, and storytelling. taken in Dubai, United Arab Emirates by @krixna

life has been quieter lately, but full in ways that don’t always make it online 🤍

one of my favorite moments from this season was sharing the stage with some incredible writers at @emirateslitfest to talk about names, identity, and the stories behind them taken in Dubai, United Arab Emirates by @krixna

I’ve been interested in Baybayin for a long time. It’s something many Filipinos encounter early on through school, sometimes even used as a kind of “secret script” you could only read if you knew how. For some of us, it’s also a way of reconnecting with our precolonial identity.

But I learned how to create my first Baybayin calligraphy through the workshops I’ve been quietly helping steward over the past year at @dubaipubliclibraries, alongside the maestro himself, Gino Banola (@panitik_kaligrapiya)

And because I don’t believe in gatekeeping culture, these monthly workshops remain free and open to anyone who wants to learn this ancient Filipino script — from lettering and typography to creating pieces you can frame and take home.

If you’ve ever been curious about Baybayin, this is your sign. Swipe through for the upcoming sessions at the library.

Grateful to @eman_hammadi and the @dubaiculture #SchoolofLife team for the trust and support that made these sessions possible. 🤍

If you’d like to join, comment below and I’ll DM you the registration link — or find it via the link in bio on @dubaipubliclibraries.

See you there?
