Moving into Cainta was intimidating, but thank you for welcoming me to into your home and reassuring me that I had a place in it—mostly spent by your side.

Thank you for keeping me grounded and for always reminding me that none of my worries were more important than the time I could be spending with you.

Thank you for bringing so much light into our home. You brought both chaos and peace into our lives—the perfect balance that allowed our little family to become what it was. Being with you (and Chocnut) is where Justin and I have been our happiest. I can’t imagine a world without you in it—but I’m grateful I even had the privilege of being a part of yours.

Tanner, I will miss your mischief. I’ll miss you waking me up if I’m asleep past walking time. I’ll miss you intentionally escaping the house just so I can chase you back in. I’ll miss you interrupting me during work to demand attention (but also to remind me it’s break time). I’ll miss our 5am drives to the gym (thank you for keeping me awake). I’ll miss your death stares when I don’t give you what you clearly want. I’ll miss your goofy stance, your big ears, your dark paws and your lovable smile. Anyway, you get it. I love you for everything that makes you uniquely you.

Thank you for allowing me to be both your mom and your partner-in-crime. I wish you had more time with us, but I am confident that you made the most of your 4.5 years on earth because you only ever did things your way—up until the end.
