Heaven called our Jeanie girl home yesterday🤍 Heartbroken doesn’t even begin to explain the empty feeling in our home. Jeanie girl was the best travel buddy I could ask for. We put lots of miles on the car keeping up with her daddy all across the country. She loved car rides, glizzies at Bark in the Park, and hallway zoomies down all the random apartments we lived in. I don’t think it’s any coincidence her ESA certification just expired the day prior to her passing. She knew her time was done here and that we’ve settled down. We’re so thankful for the shared memories we got with her and Rome. Forever our first baby she’ll be🐾 Rest in Peace Jeanie beanie we love you forever and will miss you always by @laneramsey

Happy (half) birthday, Mr. Rome🤍

Six months of the purest form of love, the type of love that we talked about in our college dorm room that doesn’t even compare to what we feel now. The love that only our Heavenly Father could bless us with.

Time is a funny thing - wanting the days to slow down and take in every second as if we were moving in slow motion but at the same time, soaking in the incredible joy it is to watch you grow (too fast).

Thank You, Baseball

You never know or plan for the day you decide to stop doing something you’ve loved your entire life. Unfortunately, today is that day. I owe so many of the blessings in my life to this game: to the memories of playing catch with my dad in a random field, the reassurance from my mom that I was strong enough to follow my dreams, the path that led me to meeting Ashtyn, the teammates and friends I have so much love and appreciation for, and the many highs and lows that have shaped me into the man I am today. But above all, there is one single greatest thing the game has taught me—my identity.

Throughout this journey, I put my entire identity into baseball. When the game was going well, I felt on top of the world. But when it wasn’t, it was a lonely place to be. Over the last two years, I’ve faced more struggles with my “identity” than ever before, too many to count. Yet, out of those challenges came the biggest blessing: I found my true identity. My identity is rooted in Christ, not in baseball. It took all those ups and downs—the mental battles, the sleepless nights, questioning why, the moments only those closest to me truly know, to realize there’s nothing worthwhile in placing your identity in something so temporary, because faith that only works in comfort, isn’t faith at all. If it can be taken from you, it’s not your identity. I wouldn’t have made it through these last two years without my support system and the realization that my identity is in Christ.

So I sit here with immense gratitude, not for reaching the Major Leagues, not for all the things baseball provided me and my family, but for discovering my true identity in Christ.

If I could urge anyone blessed to play this game, don’t place your identity in it. It is, after all, just a game but one I am forever thankful for.

Counting down the days until our baby boy is here.

The blessing that it is to be your husband and watch you throughout this journey has brought an incomparable amount of joy and love to me. As the sun sets on this part of our life as we know it, I can’t help but reminisce on all that God has blessed us with.

The rock that you have been to me throughout all the travel, the highs and the lows of our crazy life, and the endless love that beams through you is going to make that baby boy the luckiest child, as I am the luckiest man.
