Greetings fellow wordsmiths, word weavers, defiant poets and every single rebel dreamer.
I apologize for my absence. I’ve been stuck the past couple weeks. Next Thursday I’m having surgery to correct a surgery I had nine years ago. It is bringing me back to a place I’d rather keep shelved and boxed away.
So I am trying to do two things at once. I’m trying to honor my mental state and “just be”, while also trying to lean into the one thing that brings freedom from ghosts in my closet- writing.
I appreciate your patience, but even more… your friendship. Cannot believe my good fortune in the relationships I’ve developed with you all. What an honor to know and share words with such magical humans.

Way behind on my #spicysaturday hosted by @joscar_poetry
But, here’s my prose for #week29

Love stretching my sensuality muscles,
as I work on my first #kindleromance

Prompts:
-Look, but don’t touch
-Inevitable

She knew he was in the doorway to the bedroom.
And she wanted this one man audience.
Getting ready to undress in front of the mirror,
her eyes locked onto his.
Heat and excitement hummed around the room
as she said, “Look, but don’t touch”.
Pulling her hair up,
he unconsciously licked his lips.
Her neck was long and bare.
Peeling off her shirt,
she stood perfectly still in a white lace bra,
pencil skirt and heels.
His breath was coming out in pants as she unzipped
without breaking eye contact.
The creamy color of her thighs
was only highlighted by the black stockings attached to a garter belt.
What happened next was inevitable.

Wrote this piece as I contemplated everything I’ve done and want to be done in my 44th year. Things I may be already, and things I’m setting up on a dart board, as I work on my aim.
Truly appreciated every single birthday wish. Turning 44 on 2/4/24 felt like some kind of good luck coming… Knock on all wood.

as molten anguish pours over these Celtic bones.
I’m ready to devour
the demons that whisper seductively
beneath my feet.
Stand just close enough,
you’ll see my halo is made from cold iron
and was welded on by wild grace
and corrupt injustice.
So again,
please tempt me.
Tempt me to destroy your misconceived notions
of where I gain my muddy grit,
hope covered scar tissue,
and the whitest knuckles you’ll ever see.
Tempt me to close the chambers to this bleeding heart,
as I continue to gush recklessly.

I will not make a Resolution.
But, I stand resolute.
Not bending my worth to meet approval.
For this, consider my spine a sheet of steel.
Making someone feel big will not be obtained by making myself small.
If I am not liked, my breath will continue on.
Tilt my ground, I will not crumble.
There will be days where my success is measured by hours.
And those will count, all day, every day and twice on Sunday.
I love deeply and desire only peace.
Yet, I will not sit if war is brought.
