The NEW WAY is not a trend, it’s a way of building businesses for the new world we’re entering🪐

One where purpose meets profit, humans are put first and sustainable business models are the bare f*cking minimum.

For too long we’ve been manipulated and scare mongered into thinking it must be hard, complicated and out of reach to find a balance or purpose and profit but the NEW WAY rewrites the rules of what’s possible and it’s here to stay.

People just want to feel something.

In a world where many are sleep walking into apathy, while the rest of us question, ‘is it just me’?!

I’ve noticed something 👀 looking back at the videos I record from my handstand practice, the faster I kick up, the quicker I fail.

The slower and more intentional I move my body up, the more controlled, the slower I invert, the longer I stay up for. The more time I have to engage my core, the more likely I am to balance upside down.

A solid reminder that, we can do things quickly, we can race to the top, but it’s the slow, intentional and calculated moves that are designed to create space to learn and adapt as we take action, making success far more likely.

The biggest mistake I made building my community👇

I knew my people. I loved my people. I thought I understood exactly what they needed.

So I built programmes for them. Beautifully designed, well-intentioned programmes.

They flopped🫣

And the painful part wasn’t the failure. It was realising why.

I had been building FOR my community instead of WITH them. I was so focused on what I wanted to create that I forgot to ask what they actually wanted to experience. I treated them like an audience to deliver to - rather than a community to co-create with.

The shift that changed everything?

I started asking different questions.

Not “what do I want to offer?” but “what do you actually need?”

Not “what should I include?” but “what does success look like for you?”

When I started building from transformation rather than features - everything changed.

✔️ The offers resonated.

✔️ The community deepened.

✔️ The revenue followed.

This is why I believe building a community-first business isn’t just a nice idea. It’s the only way to build in the new way.

Because when people feel genuinely part of what you’re building - not just subscribed to it - they show up differently. They buy differently. They stay.

And that changes everything🫶

On Friday, 40 women founders gathered at the beautiful @farmettemedia for The Cotswilds Founders Forum, talking honestly about community, trust, failure and what it actually takes to build something that lasts.

The biggest thank you to our incredible lineup:

@lara_sheldrake who opened the morning with a keynote that reframed how every person in that room thinks about building a business. From audience to community to ecosystem and her framework to balance visibility, impact and profit.

@tskenya who reminded us that diversity is not a box to tick but a North Star. And that the biggest thing holding us back is often our own ego and the need to surrender control.

@kayliebloxham from @bloxhampr spoke about trust and culture as the foundation of everything. Not a nice to have. The actual thing.

@sarahcotswolds from @cotswold.collective who spoke about local collaboration and the power of bringing people together around a shared goal, and the hard lesson of learning to stop trying to be everything to everyone.

@patersonimogen who gave us one of the most memorable lines of the morning. The shift from transaction to emotion is where membership becomes community.

Tamara from @farmettemedia who facilitated the whole panel with warmth, wit and real skill. This morning would not have been what it was without you.

And to our incredible photographer @amyfoster, thank you for always capturing not just the moments but the feeling in the room.
