What do collectives need to move together? We want to discuss what it means to work collectively — from methodologies for collective making, questioning authorship, to building alternative care structures, and figuring out how to sustain ourselves. How can we expand our collective bodies to create a bigger affective net in The Hague and surroundings?

This fall, join us in The Hague for a two-day gathering of collectives! From the 30 to the 31 October, we will come together (together) in @destadswacht for our very first edition of “Collecting Collectives”.

This open call is addressed to collectives of all disciplines in and around The Hague. If you have any questions, send us a message here or via email to hello@togethertogether.space
To respond to this open call, fill out the form (link in bio) by Wednesday, 30 September.

🗺️ “Mapping Otherwise” wonders how a landscape can become a choreography — Or how an embodied memory can become a map. Modern cartography builds on colonial methods and aesthetics, abstracting and dividing land into empty squares and borders. Maps have always been an apparatus, not only of navigation, but also of oppression and violence. “Mapping Otherwise” challenges the notion that mapmaking is objective and neutral. Instead, it recognizes maps as subjective and political documents, that shape perception and navigation.

The site-specific workshop seeks to understand and disrupt these modern colonial ways of emptying and containing our animate world through collective and embodied mapping in which we explore alternative cartography.
The workshop is composed of meditation, movement exercises and conversations. We wonder how the landscape of Massiaru moves us, moves around and within us, to then translate it into body movements. Those movements will be shared with the whole group and collected to form scores that result in a collective choreography, which serves as layers to the known maps. The workshops helps to understand our bodies as a cartographic and choreographic tool and enables participants to create new memories of and relations with the space. 🕸️ by @lauraflethe

Non Linear Narrative 2025 Graduate takeover # 5:

We are TogetherTogether (@togethertogether.collective), a research-based artistic collective driven by the need to resist individualism and alienation in contemporary society. Through collaborative practice, we create spaces for counter narratives that spark hope in a paranoiac world. Our work unfolds through embodied experiences, learning through the body, sharing stories, and building meaningful encounters for repairing social fabrics of care.

As artists and researchers, we are often asked to define an individual practice. But what happens when the practice is collective, rooted in togetherness?

“Practical proposals of what-might-be” responds to a society shaped by modernity and coloniality, where individualism is prioritized. In this context, coming together is a politicized experience for which we propose a language that suspends our belief and involvement in exploitative structures. The project exhibits an ongoing research into collective care through public gatherings and interventions, and unfolds in three interconnected pieces.
“Risking entanglement” is a site-specific installation, a playground where we exercise interdependence and rehearse ‘suspension’, not as a way of escaping modernity but as a method of resistance. The performance, “Whispering bodies: scores for the we”, tells a story about the search for collectivity, the joys and frictions of shaping a ‘collective body’, visualizing the intangible relations. “Moving words: a body glossary” presents video essays that explore how meaning is created through the body, becoming an archive of the research process and gestures that hold us together.

This project is both a proposal and a question: a space where we suspend productivism, reclaim agency, imagine futures, and ask what if? taken in Royal Academy of Art, The Hague by @lauraflethe

Almost a year ago I finished my bachelor thesis, in which I was 𝑠𝑒𝑎𝑟𝑐ℎ𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑓𝑜𝑟 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑠𝑝𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑎𝑙 𝑒𝑥𝑖𝑠𝑡𝑒𝑛𝑐𝑒 𝑜𝑓 𝑏𝑜𝑜𝑘𝑠. I tried to translate the intimate experience of reading into a physical space and to make the book collectively and sensually enterable.

How are books bodily in space as matter? How does their architecture guide us through them? What happens when we leave behind the object, the bound framework, the printed glyphs on paper? When letters become words, words become sentences, sentences become text and texts become stories? We enter — as through a portal — another world and forget the book object in our hands.
