SP-Arte Rotas
SAO PAULO, Brasil

Agustina Woodgate is participating in Mirante, a section of SP–Arte Rotas, an exhibition curated by Bernardo Mosqueira and Ana Clara Simões Lopes that brings together works centered on the idea of landscape. It takes as point of departure the concept of an expanded landscape: not only as a genre of artistic representation, but as a framework for considering the many relationships between human beings and their environments. The exhibition brings together both historical and contemporary explorations of landscape, as well as works that reveal the remarkable diversity of ways of thinking, knowing, feeling, imagining, living together, and conceiving the cosmos that are so characteristic of Latin America. In these works, landscape extends beyond the limits of representation to become an expanded field of relationships, where memory, ecology, spirituality, politics, history, and imagination are intertwined as complementary ways of understanding the world to which we belong.

Diseñamos, desarmamos, volvimos a armar.

Esto recién empieza. by @lawoodgate

In 2010 Agustina Woodgate founded the ARC (Animal Rug Cooperative), a collaborative initiative that had a significant social impact on her work and everyone involved in the project. The cooperative consisted of artists and craftspeople who took apart the toys and subsequently remade them by hand, thus giving them a second life as rugs. The stuffed animals, now relabelled as works of art, ended up a long way removed from their original function. The gesture works as both a material transformation and an intervention that interrupts the linear trajectory beginning with manufacture and ending with the products being thrown away.

Voices of Hope: Agustina Woodgate

@lawoodgate is an artist who investigates the hidden systems that shape how resources move, tracing the politics and poetics of infrastructure.

In La Planta, she transformed a gallery into a functioning water purification and distribution system, drawing groundwater from six meters beneath the gallery floor. The work has since entered a new chapter: its water tanks have been redistributed to community gardens, schools, parks, and cultural spaces throughout Argentina's Riachuelo basin, where water remains essential to everyday life.

An artwork with a strong social and environmental commitment that continues to exist - and to drive change - beyond the gallery walls.

SEGUNDAS VIDAS
Curaduría / Curated by Sonia Becce

Agustina Woodgate investigates the hidden systems that shape how resources move — tracing the politics and poetics of infrastructure.

At the Biennale, The Source takes form as a public drinking fountain shaped by local limestone and informed by centuries of water distribution across the region. Designed as a closed system, the installation filters, circulates, and returns water — inviting visitors to pause, gather, and share space.
Rooted in histories of irrigation and future possibilities, the work reimagines how water moves — and how communities connect around it.
