This is 30 🌞
The strongest I’ve ever been- physically + mentally.
The biggest I’ve ever been- 180 lbs, after a lifetime of shrinking it feels good to TAKE UP SPACE.
The most embodied- thanks to gender affirming care, plus supplements to correct years of food restriction. My body finally has what it needs to build muscle mass, and I don’t constantly feel like I’m going to pass out.

About 3 years ago, I realized I’m nonbinary and started to socially transition. I had been expressing hyper-femme for all my life. As an artist I’ve always enjoyed expressing myself through makeup and clothing, so it came naturally to me. But I realized that I was expressing that way not because of who I am, but because of who the world rewarded me for being.

Almost 2 years ago, I started low dose Testosterone. I realized how many of my reactions in life were actually due to gender dysphoria, and that my struggles with food and body image were related to that. I was only ever shown one “correct way” to be a “woman” and I followed the script without questioning it. The way I was raised, going off script was cause for ridicule.

The obsession with constantly being everything for everyone and looking perfect while doing it completely destroyed any sense of self I had before one could even truly develop.

For years, I allowed people to manipulate me by calling me “aggressive,” telling me that I am too much, that I ask for too much, that I’m difficult, that I’m ridiculous.

Now I realize that even at 120 lbs, my strength and expression made them feel insecure. As femme as I was expressing outwardly, my energy has always been equally masculine. At some point I realized that that’s not inherently a problem. I’m not a “bad woman,” because I’m NOT a woman 🤦🏻‍♀️ lol

When I started to express more masculine, taking up space was something that I had to get comfy with. I didn’t realize before how much culturally and socially we associate femininity with being small.

I had to ask, and I invite you to do the same,

“Who benefits from me staying small?”

1.5 years on T (low dose) vs before T (2 years ago).
Third pic is after 6 months on T, vs now! I feel healthier and more like myself than I ever have. 😄

Here’s what I look like, in case anyone forgot. lol. Plus me and @paigealte in Guatemala. 💖 by @leedevi_

To me, the point of this has never been to be the most liked by the most people. The point is to find MY people, because that’s who I can help the most. 🤍

Who needs café when you can do Kaoshiiki?! 😜

Dadaji at @ananda.maya.ashram taught us this Yoga dance and I couldn’t help but put it to some @chappellroan 😍 Don’t worry Dada, we are still meditating with the mantra you taught us everyday!

Doing this movement warms up the whole body, and is very good for lymphatic stimulation and balancing the endocrine system (your hormones)! Both of those things are super important for overall health. I’ll definitely be teaching this when I get back to Ohio.

Just kidding though, I totally had café con chocolate after this… c’mon, we’re in Guatemala! 😊
