Attention, FamiLEE! What does your culture mean to you? Share your story through the arts in the 2026-27 National PTA Reflections competition.

Lee High School students can enter in six categories:
• Visual arts
• Dance choreography
• Literature, including short stories and poems
• Music composition
• Film production
• Photography

Create an original entry inspired by this year’s theme, “What My Culture Means to Me,” for an opportunity to earn awards and recognition.

All submissions are due Nov. 1, 2026. No late entries will be accepted.

Congratulations to our amazing teachers who submitted applications to receive a Toyota Alabama DRIVE grant! Coach McNealey, Mr. McDonald, Mr. Rominske, Mr. Lee, and Ms. Smith all won grants to support STEM instruction in their classes. The grants awarded to Lee High School totaled $14,000! ATTENTION FamiLEE! MORNING ARRIVAL & SECURITY PROCEDURES

Student safety and instructional time are our top priorities! Please review these important reminders to help keep our mornings safe and efficient.

ARRIVAL TIMES
• 7:45 a.m. – Doors open
• 8:15 a.m. – Students must be in line for security screening
• 8:25 a.m. – Breakfast ends (except late buses)
• 8:30 a.m. – Instruction begins

BE PREPARED
Before entering the building, remove your HCS-issued laptop and all metal items (except keys) from your bag. This includes chargers, headphones, metal water bottles/cups, canned drinks, and other metal objects. Place items in designated baskets as directed.

HOLD LAPTOPS OVERHEAD
Students must hold their HCS-issued laptops above their heads, with arms extended, while passing through the weapons detectors.

LEAVE THESE ITEMS AT HOME
• Metal water bottles, Stanley cups, and canned beverages (plastic bottles are encouraged).
• Personal iPads, tablets, and laptops. Only HCS-issued devices are permitted. Unauthorized devices will be confiscated and must be picked up by a parent/guardian.

Families, please help students prepare each evening and arrive on time. Together, we can maintain a safe, orderly, and academically focused environment!
