POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
Earlier this year, I competed in the Miss Miami Gardens Scholarship Competition and won the Best Interview Category!

That kindled something in me that pushed me to move forward.

I jumped into pageantry on a whim last year to challenge myself out of the limitations I'd grown to believe defined me.

If 2018 Lynn could see me now, she'd be shaking. Because who was I to dare to believe that I possessed anything of value, beauty, or significance.

Doing things that you feel unqualified for will make you feel foolish until you realize that it takes a level of folly to fully walk in your spiritual identity.

The kind of folly that looks at every historical piece of evidence that establishes how your story should conclude- except -in the place of the words "The end" - to flip the script and write a different destiny.

I'd tell 17 year old Lynn, that your identity is not assigned to you by the compelling voices of your environment and experiences.

Your lived identity is the sum of your bold belief and your audacious actions.

Special Thank you to Miss Miami Gardens Org Executive Director, Dr. Niesha Mack Massingill @abeautifulzeta and Director Kennedy @itskennediadriana for coordinating an amazing display of Culture, Performance and Beauty.
Miami Gardens is in good hands because of you both. šŸ™ŒšŸ½

And Thank you @queendelpha for believing in and pushing girls like me. It takes a special kind of coach who will believe in you so much that you start believing in yourself šŸ’– by @legendoflion

It’s funny how the butterfly effect works. I look at what I’m living in now and see how it’s the ripple effect of small choices I made last year—seemingly insignificant decisions that played out like chords, fine‑tuning the orchestration of my life.

In 2025, I challenged myself to pursue the plans in my heart with the opportunities in front of me. Of those, some were:

Competing in my first pageant

Leading an initiative to raise the topic of civic engagement among Haitian‑American students

Partaking in the leadership team of NABA, a professional student organization and empowering Black and Brown students with economic opportunity

Joining the Haitian Student Union Executive Board at FIU and collaborating to design creative events celebrating Haitian heritage and culture

Initiating Community Service Efforts

It was amazing to see how ideas and inspirations I had simply imagined became fully manifested realities once I followed through.

Every time I courageously take a step in the direction I feel called, I’m amazed at how God extends my limits and exceeds my expectations. Like the song says, ā€œYou call me out upon the waters, the great unknown where feet may fail.ā€

God doesn’t call us into soulless uniformity but into adventurous, radical dependence and trust in Him for the destiny uniquely designed for each of us. I’m thankful that the things I’m living today constantly remind me that He has a plan—and that my destiny is on the other side of every bold decision.

I’m grateful to be living in the fruition of my faith through taking bold actions, and Jesus, I thank You for opening doors. I can only look in awe at the ways He challenged my realm of possibility in 2025.

To you, the reader: those desires God has placed in your heart are not just inspirations. They are spiritual realities awaiting birth into the physical world through your actions.

The world is waiting for your gifts. Creation is groaning for the revelation of the sons of man. (Romans 8:19) by @legendoflion

There are times when I've questioned my place in rooms that feel beyond me, but I’ve resolved to step into shoes that seem too big. In doing so, I am training my feet to one day fill them.

This summer, that decision led me to the former summer home of Nobel Laureate Milton Friedman. There, we explored the themes of his book Capitalism and Freedom, regarding the connection between economic systems and the advancement of human life.

The week I spent in Vermont reminded me of how far a little faith can go. Faith the size of a mustard seed really does move mountains. And every time I take a courageous step in the direction I feel called, I’m in awe of the doors that open and the rooms I find myself in.

It was an honor to be among such passionate young minds—debating and learning together. Even in disagreement, we maintained respect for one another. In light of current events, this colloquium served as a reminder that true human freedom cannot exist without the freedom to express our ideas—even when they are controversial.

Beyond our discussions, I enjoyed the encounters with historical sites and artifacts. From visiting the birthplace of President Calvin Coolidge, to exploring Rauners Library and reading a handwritten note by Frederick Douglass honoring Passmore Williamson—a man who stood by him in the abolitionist fight, to seeing a lock of George Washington’s hair and holding the first Bible ever printed in the United States, dating back to the 1600s.

I’m deeply grateful to @freetochoosenetwork & @theadamsmithcenter for creating opportunities like this and connecting students with global leaders - bridging the gap between academic theory and practical application. by @legendoflion

(Pt. 4) One of the most beautiful memories I’ll carry with me from my time in France is the collective sentiment of solidarity within the African Diaspora—especially toward Haitians. What moved me was the ease, the fluidity, and the sense of comfort we found in each other’s presence, even as strangers from different regions of the world.

I met people from Ivory Coast, Mozambique, Madagascar, and Mali, each with a story of how they learned about Haiti in school and how we are the first free Black republic. Which to them serves as a legacy of Black freedom and a source of inspiration for liberation movements around the world. It was inspiring to witness the collective pride of the African Diaspora in honoring our shared fight for freedom.

I'm so grateful that with greater exposure to the world came a deeper connection to the perspectives and stories of those beyond American soil.

Here’s to learning.
Here’s to connecting beyond our usual environments.
Here’s to understanding the world as a whole.

Though I was on an entirely different continent, I felt more deeply connected to my culture, my roots, and my people. šŸ«¶šŸ½ by @legendoflion

(Pt. 3) From the first day I walked into Université Catholique de l'Ouest, I remember the 2000's feel of high school. Being in a room filled with the noise, anxiety, and wonder of students bustling into an auditorium to hear from the school administration for the first time. Crossing through rows to sit at wooden desks that folded down, to sit beside students from all over the world we had never met before.

It amazed me how easy it was to befriend each other in just four weeks. I loved how quickly we connected right after orientation. Our conversation over French cuisine, because our host families served us potatoes and tomatoes for dinner the night before. Though the meal seemed simple, it was surpisingly delightful.

In Angers, I realized how deep communion is woven into the culture — from parks filled with families and children playing together, to streets alive with people exploring new restaurants or playing board games after dinner. It gave me a taste of what life was like before I became consumed with doing.

I honestly haven't always prioritized spending time with people. For the longest time, I've been a doer — devoting my energy to project after project, initiative after initiative. I've often viewed the time I give to others as secondhand in importance. But being in France reoriented my perspective. I'm still a work in progress, so I'm learning to allocate my time to those I love

Because really, what is life if it’s not about celebrating and enjoying each other?

Thank you, @cidef.angers , for the work that you do. You do more than teach French courses to students from around the world — you create community, you mark memories, you engrave experiences, you forge friendships, you build bridges.

I will never forget this šŸ„¹ā¤ļø by @legendoflion

(Pt.2) Being in a city where time slowed and people valued leisure made me realize how much I’ve been running. Even in idleness, my mind rarely rested.

For a while, I've believed it was my duty to make the most of every opportunity so that I could open doors for those who come after me.

Noble? Maybe. But also a heavy pressure. Because with that belief came the pretense of assuming the form of who I thought I should be.

France taught me I don’t need to take the shape of the caricature I think is fit for my calling. I’ve been racing to embody something I’m not—occupying space, but not inhabiting it.
Running toward a finish line that isn’t moving.

My beautiful friend Maram once told me:
ā€œThose who are working towards getting somewhere usually end up arriving there.ā€

That stayed with me—not as a platitude, but because I realized I’m already living many of the things I once dreamed of. I don’t need to become anything to be worthy of my purpose. My works don’t define me—they extend from me.

I’m learning to yield—to mistakes, to presence, to not being everywhere at once. In discomfort and change, I’ve found more of myself than I expected.

(Pt.1) Where do I begin?

It’s been a week since I left Angers, France, and I’m still adjusting. But that’s the thing about transformation—you can’t return to your old life and expect to fit the same.

While abroad, I confronted identity in a way I never had before. Waking up on a different continent, while the life I'd built was on the other side of the globe — prompted the question:
Why am I doing all of this—and who am I really doing it for?

The answer I came to ? Me.

Although I've stretched myself wide and shapeshifted in many forms to attend to the needs of others - The reality is, that the causes I care about are actually causes that I personally sympathize with. They are the burdens of my heart for this world.

Which brought me to the realization:
I am the change I’ve been hungry for.
I am what I desire to see in this world.

Creation is groaning for the real me—not the curated version. My story, my flaws—they're not meant to be hidden, but seen. Celebrated.

I’m learning to honor my story and to stop looking to people for validation because I am something original. A breath of fresh air. Something the world has never seen before. And no one can cosign what has never been read.

šŸŽž I've been editing a short film about this journey, and I can’t wait to share it with you all soon šŸ’— Sneak peek on the last slide šŸ˜‰ taken in France by @legendoflion
