LIFE LATELY . . .

July 23 I suffered a total tear of my hamstring off the pelvic bone while waterskiing. Ten days later, I went in for surgery to reattach the hamstring. It has been a challenging journey with countless lessons and also reminders of so many good things in my life. My entire life I have been a go-go get things done girl and this was like nothing I have experienced.

I have publicly acknowledged that the day before the accident, I said under my breath that I was not sure I could maintain the crazy pace that my life was moving at. Well 12 hours later, I was literally stopped with a shocking force and blow to both my body and mind. I hope by sharing some of this journey it serves as a reminder that when life gets too fast and crazy to take a breath and SLOW DOWN before the universe finds a dramatic way to ensure you listen.

My public list of gratitude and gentle reminders:

•Take time to listen and honor your body, mind, and spirit.
•Jon is an incredible care giver. He literally had to be by my side for the simplest of tasks in my life. He has been patient and giving beyond words.
•My children are incredibly loving, patient and helpful.
•I have the most AMAZING friends! They brought food, flowers, and books, but most of all they came and sat and talked for hours on end with me. They called from all over the world, they spent their free time with me and they showered me in love.
•My LS Studio work team and my design community are so incredibly supportive. My team was patient, diligent and thoughtful. I was out of the office for over a month and they never complained. They did anything they could to help lighten my burden.
•Each day I had to choose to find the silver linings. There were little wins each day and I had to look for them and recognize them.
•I had to allow the sadness to move through me and not hold it in. I cried a lot without any judgement and then I could move on after releasing the pain and discouragement.
•This is something I can heal from. It is temporary.
•Perspective is everything. Seeing the world from a wheelchair, on crutches or just moving at such a slow pace has changed so many things within me.

The Wedding, Part 3

At the end of the day, the design created the backdrop and tone for an epic day and spectacular celebration!

We cried, laughed and danced the night away. My husband and I poured our hearts out in love for Kendyl and Blake and all the people that have supported them in their journey.

The weeks, days and hours of thought, planning and hard work that went into designing this wedding all paid off when looking around at a room full of people celebrating and enjoying every minute.

In the end the ultimate gift of creation exists when the design sparks joy and you’ve created a space to connect and make memories to last a lifetime! This wedding did exactly that for me and my family. by @leslieschofield

Wedding Pt. 2: When Kendyl and Blake first got engaged they started planning with a strong vision in mind: “Think the end of summer camp dance vibes - but elevated - bold colors, disco balls and lots of handmade elements.”

We treated the entire process similar to how we handle the design discovery phase when working with clients. Mood boards, vendor meetings and even putting the venue floor plan into CAD as we played with endless table layouts.
The result was incredible. Between Blake’s custom graphics, Kendyl’s hand-painted elements, many late art/craft nights and a team of incredible vendors we were nothing short of ecstatic with the final result.

The highlight of this fall! My oldest daughter Kendyl got married early September. It was a day overflowing with joy and color!
This wedding was the culmination of 18 months of design, planning and anticipation. I believe that life and design are intertwined and this event was the perfect example of this philosophy.
I am thrilled to share the design process that made this memorable day one I will always cherish, but first, a few of my favorite photos from the wedding featuring my favorite people.

Cheers to Kendyl & Blake! - Leslie taken in Peoa, Utah by @leslieschofield

Making a Memory. . . Kendyl & Blake - 9.06.2025

There are moments in life where you want time to stand still for a while, where you feel like you are in a moment of magic. Witnessing Kendyl and Blake get married was one of those moments. I experienced so much love and pure joy.

I also saw the absolute best in Ezra, Grace and Will during the wedding week. I listened as they expressed love for Kendyl and Blake. I watched them work hard, help and support their sister. The love they have for Kendyl and Blake was so apparent.

I gained a new son-in-law that adores my daughter. He is loyal, loving, and is the biggest fan of everything Kendyl! That is a priceless gift!

There will be more to come, but for now, Cheers to love and to Kendyl and Blake! And love to my dear family. So lucky to have each of you in my life!

When EVERYTHING changes!

31 years ago I became a mom and Kendyl made her debut in this world! I can honestly say she truly makes the world better EVERY day. She is thoughtful, kind, passionate, wise, generous, loving, and a someone that I just love to be around.

In less than two months another moment that changes everything. I’m thrilled and excited for Kendyl’s next stage of life with Blake.

Happy birthday @friendyl ! You are a light in this world.

Love you forever! by @leslieschofield

Celebrating 32 years of marriage!

An anniversary is such a great time to reflect and this year was no exception. With my career growing and the intense demands that accompany it, children leaving home, an upcoming wedding, and a six month plus home remodel it’s been a lot to navigate in a marriage. Everyday is a choice to show up and choose one another. I started thinking of words that describe what 32 years can feel like. I played with almost the entire alphabet and some alliteration to share the best and sometimes worst words you can feel in a marriage.

THE GOOD NEWS - the highs outweigh the lows. The joy exceeds the sadness and the love we share always wins!

It was a weekend of celebration with a magical dinner, lots of home projects and work, a gorgeous hike @snowbird, and some time on the bike.

Thank you @juangrande801 for choosing me. I choose you EVERY DAY! by @leslieschofield

UNDER CONSTRUCTION!

We are currently in the process of a home remodel. This is combined with the construction and expansion at @leslieschofieldstudio I often half jokingly say that my entire life is under construction because from home, to office to job sites, I can never escape the process of construction.

We are living in the basement and while I am anxious to get back into my normal space and routine there have been some highlights. Eating together each night at a very small table in our basement next to a photo wall that I did over 15 years ago. I see the photo of Jon and I on the day we were married and think about the challenges we have faced and overcome together. I see my children through their childhood years and love remembering these years that flew by too fast.

Even though I love the process of change and evolution, I am sentimental about the rich memories that this house holds. When tearing out the stairs, we found a message Jon had written to the kids on one of the risers probably 12 years ago during another small remodel.

YOU ARE AMAZING. THE WORLD IS AMAZING. AMAZE THE WORLD. START NOW. TODAY YOUR WORLD IS HERE!

Life has entered a new chapter with grown kids, my ability to now focus on expanding my business, and Jon shifting his career path. I get to take with me all the equally beautiful and challenging memories and know that the future is bright and I am excited to see what will unfold. I think life will always be under construction! by @leslieschofield
