So, somehow I’m 40?! I’ve been working on Archetypes with my life coach and focussing on bringing some queen energy into my life, it seemed fitting then to have a circus dress made for my birthday. I LOVED fancy dress as a child and all through my 20s, but motherhood changed how I felt in my body, and fancy dress became much harder to embrace. So, I asked @messy_cloves to design me something that recognised the old me and celebrated the current me, and boy did she deliver!! The initial ideas were all so joyful, we decided on a dress with a nod to circus, that I could wear to any party, and a cape with a more festival vibe (it has references to our life dangling from it! The truck, our ice cream trailer, Luna dog, Scribble duck etc). It was a complete joy to wear! When I arrived at the party, a cluster of little girls gathered round me peering up in wonder, and I realised I had indeed become a circus queen! Thank you @messy_cloves for creating such a perfect realisation of my dreams.

March Meet The Maker!
WHAT DO I MAKE?
Apologies, I am way behind on this as I was SO ILL.
Well, I guess I make art that aims to inspire a little joy! I love getting lost in tiny lines and details that make up my drawings, and the end goal is always to create some accessible art for all- I love imagining all my pictures in their new homes and how they may impact their owners. My recent obsession is paper chains! Everyone is tight for money these days it seems, so I wanted to make something jolly and affordable to adorn your homes with, they sold like hot cakes at the Christmas markets - and I’ve just launched my new spring design to add some bright jolly cheer to your homes, go check it out! by @lexillustration

TRIAL & ERROR

Printing!!! Finding an eco printer that produces the colours I want for my work has been a definite trial and error process over the years. Ordering new cards and finding the colours to not be quite how I wanted them can be super frustrating! Thankfully, I have settled on a very lovely quality printers now. AND many of the misprints are so slight most people would not notice or care, just fussy old me, so they go into my bargain box at markets which before Christmas was a huge HIT, so, silver linings you guys get bargain cards out of my fussiness 🤣

I always have a bargain box on my stall now & am happy to post out a bundle of bargain cards any time (cards are 50p each, minimum order £5, p&p £3) just drop me a DM. by @lexillustration

BEHIND THE SCENES

Coming in a day late as I’ve been so out of it ill that I’ve lost track of time! But thank you to @pan.makes for reminding me with your sweet video of your beautiful drawings and family scene - which reminded me a lot of our home, I’m rarely not surrounded by small humans and one of my favourite things is to settle into drawing and find little paws grab a pen and paper and join quietly alongside me. Here are a few snapshots of what our behind the scenes has looked like for the last nine years!! Ps. I definitely get a lot more done when they are all at school 😜 by @lexillustration
